Tochtli, un niño al que le encantan los sombreros, los diccionarios, los samuráis, las guillotinas y todo lo francés, quiere un hipopótamo enano de África para su colección particular. Su padre, Yolcaut, el líder un cartel, está dispuesto a conseguirle cualquier cosa, aunque sea una especie en peligro de extinción. Viven en un escondite en México con un montón de personajes oscuros y el tutor de Tochtli, Mazatzin, que cree que el mundo está lleno de injusticias. A pesar de la cruda realidad, ven la vida como un simple juego.

Tochtli, a boy who loves hats, dictionaries, samurai, guillotines and everything French, wants an African dwarf hippopotamus for his private collection. His father, Yolcaut, the leader of a cartel, is willing to get him anything, even if he is an endangered species. They live in a hideout in Mexico with a bunch of shady characters and Tochtli's tutor, Mazatzin, who believes the world is full of injustice. Despite the harsh reality, they see life as a simple game.
