Netflix unveils the teaser trailer for The Crystal Cuckoo
Netflix has today unveiled the teaser trailer and official poster for the miniseries The crystal cuckoo, the new adaptation by Javier Castillo, starring Catalina Sopelana (The Gardener, The Neighbour), Alex García (Holy Family, The Immortal), Itziar Ituño (Berlin, Money Heist), Iván Massagué (The Platform), Alfons Nieto (Burning Body, Elite) and Tomás del Estal (Gangs of Galicia), which will launch on Netflix on 14 November.
The Crystal Cuckoo follows the story of Clara Merlo (Catalina Sopelana), a first-year medical resident who suffers a sudden cardiac arrest. A heart transplant gives her a second chance at life, but also awakens in her an unease she cannot ignore: she needs to know who her donor was. Her search leads her to a small, mysterious village, where she discovers that the heart now beating inside her once belonged to a young man caught in an unresolved tragedy. Clara's arrival in the village triggers a chain of events that will uncover a past many believed buried forever.
This six-episode miniseries produced by Atípica Producciones, is based on the bestselling novel by Spanish author Javier Castillo, with more than 2.5 million copies sold and published by Suma (Penguin Random House). The adaptation has been brought to the screen by Jesús Mesas and Javier Andrés Roig (The Snow Girl, Estoy vivo), and directed by Laura Alvea (Animas) and Juan Miguel del Castillo (The Gypsy Bride).
