CHICAGO PD (NBC) - Anabelle Acosta has scored a role on the current season as Camila, who "Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) encounters while he's undercover working a case. His interaction with her and her family brings up a lot from his military past." (Variety.com)
CODE BLACK (CBS) - Emily Alyn Lind's Ariel Braeden, an orphan who "is in the process of being adopted by Dr. Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden)," has been named a series regular for the show's upcoming third season. (Deadline.com)
FIND THE GOOD (NBC, New!) - Geoffrey Nauffts ("Nashville") has set up a family drama at the Peacock about "an obit writer and mother of four living in small-town Alaska, and how writing about death each week teaches her how to live." FremantleMedia North America is behind the hour, which is based on the memoirs of best-selling author Heather Lende. Wonderthink's Tony Goldwyn, Richard LaGravenese and Cheryl Bloc will also executive produce alongside Nauffts, Lende, Christian Vesper and Hypomania Content's Brian Pines. (Deadline.com)
HEADSHOT (FOX, New!) - Sonny Postiglione ("Bloodline") has landed a script commitment plus penalty from the network for a new drama about "a tenacious, by-the- book FBI agent who puts his career on the line by hiring a mouthy yet charming struggling actress for the role of a lifetime: undercover operative." Sanaa Hamri is also on board to direct and executive produce alongside Teakwood Lane's Howard Gordon for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
IN THEORY (Hulu, New!) - Comedian Vir Das is attached to star in a potential comedy at the streaming service about "a self-destructive math genius turned Indian radio DJ Jazz (Vir Das) who moves from Mumbai, India, to a small Mid-Western college town where he becomes obsessed with completing his late father's unfinished work, a grand, complex "Theory of Happiness."" Chris Case is penning the Sony Pictures Television-based half-hour and will executive produce alongside Das, Levity Entertainment Group's Reg Tigerman and Doug Robinson Productions' Doug Robinson. LA WOMAN (Hulu, New!) - Writer Liz Tigelaar ("Casual"), director Lynn Shelton, and producers Amy Pascal and Elizabeth Cantillon are set to team for a single-camera comedy at the streaming service billed as "a coming-of-age comedy inspired by the memoirs of Eve Babitz, the reigning "it" girl of Los Angeles in the late 1960s and early 70s. Half West Coast wild child, half boho intellectual, and all bombshell, Eve described herself as a "stacked eighteen-year-old blonde on Sunset Boulevard... who is also a writer," and surprised everyone by becoming one of LA's enduring literary voices - most of all, herself." Said quartet will executive produce for TriStar Television. (Deadline.com)

STEP DAVE (NBC, New!) - Emily Cutler ("The Odd Couple") has set up a new comedy at the Peacock about "a romance between a 24-year-old bartender and 36-year-old single working mom has a ripple effect on all the people around them." The project is based on Kate McDermott's New Zealand series of the same name with Hazy Mills Productions' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner; South Pacific Pictures' Kelly Martin and Chris Bailey; and All3Media America's Greg Lipstone and Nina Lederman also executive producing for Universal Television. UNTITLED DARREN STAR PROJECT (Paramount, New!) - Darren Star ("Younger") has sold a half-hour project to the network, about "a young American girl who goes to Paris for a life-changing experience - and ends up staying." Jax Media's Tony Hernandez is executive producing alongside Star. (THR.com)
UNTITLED RAMY YOUSSEF PROJECT (Hulu, New!) - Comedian Ramy Youssef is likewise attached to star in a new comedy at the outlet about "a contemporary Egyptian-American Muslim, caught between multiple worlds and what it means to be Arab, American, and Muslim at a time when each of those identity markers is going through a crisis of definition." A24 is behind the project, which has a pilot presentation order, with fellow co-creators Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch executive producing alongside Jerrod Carmichael. (Deadline.com)
VELVET (Paramount, New!) - Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting's Image Comics title - "a female-driven spy thriller that revolves around former spy Velvet as she sets out to settle an ancient score built on lies in a new world of ongoing espionage" - is being developed for TV by Kyle Killen ("Mind Games"). Paramount Television is behind the hour with Scott Pennington of Chapter Eleven; Keith Redmon and Steve Golin of Anonymous Content; Brubaker and Killen executive producing.
