CBS placed first in viewers and adults 25-54 for the third consecutive week and a solid second in adults 18-49 for the second straight week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 8, week three of the 2006-2007 television season.
CBS had five of the week's 10 most watched programs and through the first three weeks of the season is up in viewers and adults 25-54, and even in adults 18-49.
For the week in viewers, CBS (12.53m) beat ABC (11.25m), NBC (9.92m) and FOX (7.79m). Season-to-date in viewers, CBS (12.88m) leads followed by ABC (11.75m), NBC (10.50m) and FOX (7.35m).
In households, CBS (8.3/13) enjoyed a +11% advantage over ABC (7.3/12), +25% over NBC (6.5/11) and +56% over FOX (5.2/09). Season-to-date, CBS is first in households (8.3/13), outpacing ABC by +9% (7.6/13), NBC by +22% (6.8/11) and FOX by +77% (4.7/08).
For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.8/12) for the third consecutive week and second in adults 18-49 (3.8/10, -0.2 behind ABC) for the second consecutive week. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 and second in adults 18-49.
? CSI: MIAMI (10:00-11:00 PM) was first in households (11.4/18), viewers (17.90m), adults 25-54 (7.1/17), adults 18-49 (5.9/15) and adults 18-34 (4.4/12).
? NCIS was second in households (9.8/15), viewers (15.89m), adults 25-54 (5.5/14) and adults 18-49 (4.0/12), all season high deliveries. Compared to last week, NCIS was up +10% in households (from 8.9/14), +17% in adults 25-54 (from 4.7/12), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/10) and added +1.40m viewers (from 14.12m, +10%).
? THE UNIT was up +8% in households (8.2/12 from 7.6/12), +9% in adults 25-54 (5.1/12 from 4.7/11), +14% in adults 18-49 (4.1/11 from 3.6/09) and added +1.26m viewers (13.22m from 11.96m, +11%) compared to last week. These are also season high deliveries.
? JERICHO was second in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.83m), adults 25-54 (4.5/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10). Compared to last week, JERICHO retained 92% of its household delivery and 94% of its adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and viewer performances.
? CRIMINAL MINDS was second in households (10.0/15), viewers (15.19m), adults 25-54 (5.5/13), adults 18-49 (4.2/10) and adults 18-34 (3.2/09). This is the best delivery for a first run episode of CRIMINAL MINDS against a first run "Lost" since January 11, 2006 in both households and viewers, and January 25, 2006 in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
? CSI: NY was first in households (10.3/17), viewers (15.73m), adults 25-54 (6.0/15), adults 18-49 (4.9/14) and adults 18-34 (3.7/11). CSI: NY beat ABC's premiere of "The Nine" by +32% in households (vs. 7.8/13), +13% in adults 25-54 (vs. 5.3/13), +7% in adults 18-49 (from 4.6/12), +9% in adults 18-34 (from 3.7/11) and by +3.82m viewers (vs. 11.91m, +32%).
? SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS easily won its time slot in viewers (15.83m), behind ABC. SURVIVOR: COOK ISLANDS topped "Ugly Betty" for the second consecutive week in adults 18-49 (vs. 4.5/13, +24%), adults 25-54 (vs. 5.3/13, +26%), viewers (vs. 14.26m, +1.57m viewers or +11%).
? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was second in households (13.5/20), viewers (21.51m), adults 25-54 (9.0/20) and adults 18-49 (7.3/18).
? SHARK was second in households (9.2/15), viewers (13.75m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10).
-- Friday, CBS was first in households (7.0/13), viewers (10.82m), adults 25-54 (3.9/11), all for the third consecutive week, and first for the first time this season in adults 18-49 (2.9/09). All three CBS series were first in their time periods in both adult 18-49 and adults 25-54.
? CLOSE TO HOME won its time period in households (7.6/13), viewers (11.61m), adults 25-54 (3.9/11) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.8/09, with NBC). CLOSE TO HOME was the night's Number One program in households and viewers for the third consecutive week.
? NUMB3RS was first in households (7.2/13), viewers (11.07m), both for the third consecutive week, first in adults 25-54 (4.1/11) for the second consecutive week and moved into first place in adults 18-49 (3.0/09).
? COLD CASE delivered an 8.5/13 with 13.73m viewers, 4.9/10 in adults 25-54 and 3.7/09 in adults 18-49. Compared to the first hour of the CBS SUNDAY MOVIE last year, COLD CASE was up +55% in households, +63% in adults 25-54 and +54% in adults 18-49.
? WITHOUT A TRACE was first in households (9.9/16), second in viewers (15.27m, -0.04m behind NBC) and delivered a 5.9/13 in adults 25-54 (5.6/13) and 4.5/11 in adults 18-49. Compared to the same night last year (the second hour of the CBS SUNDAY MOVIE), WITHOUT A TRACE was up +83% in households, +87% in adults 25-54 and +88% in adults 18-49.
