BRANDY ELIMINATED FROM UPN'S "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL"
Brandy, a cosmetology student from Houston, became the third girl eliminated from the fourth cycle of UPN's hit series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, reducing the pool from 12 girls to 11.
After learning about movement and poise from ballet instructor Stefan Wenta, the twelve girls met up with modeling legend Beverly Johnson to discuss their potential careers as fashion divas. The girls had the opportunity to ask Johnson candid questions about the modeling industry, including Brandy, who inquired about whether attitude is important to be a successful model.
Later, the girls were directed to a tennis court for a photo shoot with photographer Alex Reznik. They were unaware that this shoot was a test to see how well they maintained their composure under pressure. Alex was instructed to be rude and overly harsh towards them, while Jay Manuel secretly watched from behind the scenes. Most of the girls showed signs of frustration, but Brandys negative energy continued to cause problems. As the photo shoot was nearing its conclusion, a comment made by Tatiana caused an already aggravated Brandy to loose her cool and lash out. Brandy needs to keep the toughness inside, but look like a soft, supple model on the outside, Jay commented.
The next morning, Tyra prepped the girls for their Warnaco Inc. calendar shoot, where each girl would represent a sign of the zodiac. Brandy once again became impatient while waiting for her turn in front of the camera, and she had a difficult time modeling in the harness and elaborate scorpion costume. I just wish Brandy could take command of that harnesslike a scorpion would, Jay commented after the shoot.
During the next evenings elimination ceremony, the judges viewed the photographs from the tennis court challenge and the zodiac calendar. Its this great personality that got you here, and whats going to send you home is the negative attitude, Tyra said to Brandy before viewing her pictures. Although many of the girls expressed great frustration throughout the week, it was Brandys continued anger that eliminated her from the running to become AMERICAS NEXT TOP MODEL.
The winner of UPN's AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL will have the opportunity to be managed by Ford Models. She will also receive a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl. Finally, the winner will appear in a fashion spread in Elle magazine.
