EMMY-NOMINATED ANGELA LANSBURY ON LAW & ORDER: SVU
NBC PRESENTS ANGELA LANSBURY'S 17TH EMMY NOMINATION WITH AN ENCORE BROADCAST OF HER ACCLAIMED CROSS-OVER PERFORMANCE OF ELENOR DUVALL ON NBC'S 'L&O: SVU'/'L&O: TBJ'
NEW YORK - July 18, 2005 - 2005 Emmy nominee for best guest-actress Angela Lansbury appears in her acclaimed role as role Eleanor Duvall on NBC's star-studded "Law & Order" series crossover event. This marks Lansbury's 17th Emmy nomination. Lansbury plays matriarch Eleanor Duvall whose son Gabriel (Alfred Molina) is accused of a heinous crime by detectives. This series also features appearances by Bradley Cooper, Larry King and Rita Moreno. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Chris Meloni) join forces with "Law & Order: Trial by Jury's" A.D.A. Kibre (Bebe Neuwirth) to arrest and prosecute a serial rapist, (Tuesday July 19, 10-11 p.m. ET/PT). The crossover begins on "SVU" this Tuesday and concludes with "TBJ" Friday, July 22 (10-11 p.m. ET/PT). Photos available at www.NBCUMV.com
On the first part of the crossover, "Law & Order: SVU" Detectives Benson (Hargitay) and Stabler (Meloni) investigate the rape and murder of a woman found near a nightclub with $500 stuffed into her mouth. The money and fingerprints lead detectives to a hotshot lawyer Jason Whittaker, (Cooper) who is the trustee of the Duvall family. They then question matriarch Eleanor Duvall (Lansbury) and her son Gabriel (Molina), and while the evidence points to Mr. Duvall, it is not enough to charge him. A surprising plot-twist puts A.D.A Novak (Diane Neal) in grave danger, and A.D.A. Tracy Kibre (Bebe Neuwirth, from "TBJ") is brought in to work on the case. Richard Belzer, Ice-T, Dann Florek, and Tamara Tunie also star.
The crossover concludes on "TBJ" on July 22, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, as A.D.A. Kibre (Neuwirth) works with Detectives Stabler and Benson on "Law & Order: TBJ" to prosecute a serial rapist Mr. Duvall, whose trail of victims through the years has been whitewashed by his wealthy and protective mother Eleanor. A.D.A. Kibre must also overcome witness intimidation -- and even sees her crucial DNA evidence tossed out -- but the slippery suspect's lawyer has yet another surprise up his sleeve. This episode also features guest stars Bradley Cooper, Larry King, and Rita Moreno. Amy Carlson, Kirk Acevedo, Scott Cohen and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.
