UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- July 21, 2005 -- Season One of House, the new hit medical mystery drama starring 2005 Emmy-nominee Hugh Laurie as one of television's most intriguing characters, arrives on DVD August 30, 2005. Featuring all 22 episodes, the House: Season One DVD is the perfect way for those unfamiliar with this critically-acclaimed show to learn why series viewership grew from 7 million for the season premiere to an incredible 19.5 million by this spring's season finale. With an operating room full of exclusive bonus features, the DVD collection gives fans a unique chance to dig deeper into the fascinating world of Dr. Gregory House and his team of bright young medical experts as they race against the clock to diagnose perplexing and life-threatening conditions. Extras include an interview with actor Hugh Laurie, the well-kept British secret who so perfectly portrays the wry American doctor, behind the scenes on the set of House, as well as a look at the real life medical cases that inspire the captivating stories from the series. House: Season One is priced at $59.98 SRP. Pre-order close is July 26, 2005.

A NEW KIND OF MEDICAL DRAMA

As extraordinary as the rare disorders he identifies, Dr. House (Laurie) is the brilliant and complex diagnostician whose biting tongue and often-hilarious wit conceal a steadfast commitment to the integrity of his practice. In addition to Laurie (Flight of the Phoenix, Stuart Little 1 and 2), the show's tight-knit ensemble features Omar Epps (The Wood, The Mod Squad), Jennifer Morrison (Surviving Christmas, Urban Legends: Final Cut), Jesse Spencer (Uptown Girls), Robert Sean Leonard (Driven, Swing Kids) and Lisa Edelstein (Daddy Day Care, "Leap of Faith"). Guest stars include Carmen Electra ("Baywatch"), Chi McBride ("Boston Public"), Scott Foley ("Felicity"), Sarah Clarke ("24") and Sela Ward ("Once & Again") as Dr. House's former girlfriend, Stacy.

The brainchild of Executive Producers Katie Jacobs ("Century City"), Paul Attanasio (co-creator "Homicide: Life on the Street"), David Shore ("Family Law") and director Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects), House is "the uncommon cure for the common medical drama," according to TV Guide's Matt Roush.

A HEALTHY DOSE OF BONUS FEATURES

House: Season One is packed with bonus materials that enhance the experience of the hit show. Features include:

The Genius of Dr. House - Interviews with Hugh Laurie, the producers and the cast

Real Life Medical Cases - An inside look at the magical mix of medical facts and Hollywood fiction that make House one of the biggest new shows of the year

SYNOPSIS

Hugh Laurie stars as the brilliant and irreverent Dr. Gregory House, a maverick physician so devoid of bedside manner he prefers not to meet his patients. While his behavior often borders on antisocial, House's unconventional thinking and flawless instincts allow him to solve the medical puzzles that other doctors misdiagnose or simply give up on. Aided by a hand-picked trio of idealistic young specialists neurologist Dr. Eric Forman (Omar Epps), immunologist Dr. Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) and intensivist Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer) House does whatever it takes to save his patients while trying to avoid running afoul of hospital administrator Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). Meanwhile, sexual tension between House and the show's female characters, including Cameron, Cuddy and his ex-girlfriend Stacy Warner (guest star Sela Ward), create volatile chemistry outside the medical lab.
