THE CONTENDER (ESPN) - DreamWorks Television and Mark Burnett Productions confirmed on Monday that the reality franchise is moving to Versus. Tony Danza has been tapped to host the show's fourth season of 13 episodes (11 one-hour installments and a two-hour finale) - which will filmed in Singapore as part of a one-year exclusive deal with local post house Infinite Frameworks - premiering in December. The pact however is not related to Burnett's $20 million joint venture with Malaysian resort developer, Genting International. Fellow Burnett production "The Contender Muay Thai" was also filmed the Southeast Asian island-state with local company Imagine Omnimedia back in 2007.
UNTITLED ANTHONY EDWARDS PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Actor/director Anthony Edwards and former NBC executive Cheryl Dolins have inked a multi-year overall deal with CBS Paramount Network Television. The pact sets up their newly formed Grand Central Entertainment at the studio. There they'll develop new series projects - including an unspecified comedy at CBS.
WELCOME TO AMERICATOWN (HBO, New!) - Bradford Winters ("Kings") is set to team with producers Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson, Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy for a new drama set 25-40 years into the future when the precipitous decline of the U.S. leads to a mass exodus of its citizens. The project then looks at a cluster of newly arrived American immigrants in a big foreign city. Winters will pen the script and executive produce alongside the quartet via their respective banners, the Kennedy/Marshall Co. and the Levinson/Fontana Co.
