BEACH LANE (NBC, New!) - Matthew Broderick ("30 Rock") is returning to the small screen, this time in a lead role on a potential new comedy at the Peacock. He's set to star as "a celebrity author hired by an irresponsible millionaire heir to run his struggling small-town newspaper in the Hamptons." Paul Simms ("NewsRadio") penned the multi-camera pilot, which comes from Universal Media Studios and Broadway Video Television. Lorne Michaels and Marci Klein then will executive produce alongside Simms.
CAKE BOSS (TLC) - The cable channel is moving forward with a third season of the reality series, about Buddy Valastro and his family-run bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey. The current season, due to wrap next week, is averaging a solid 1.8 million viewers. Production is already underway on the new season with the first of 26 episodes set to roll out in May. High Noon Entertainment is producing.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE (ABC, New!) - Casey Johnson and David Windsor ("Greek") are the latest to score a pilot commitment from the Alphabet. The duo are behind a potential new single-camera comedy, formerly known as "Family Values," about "two exes - one of whom is a gay father - and their new significant others as they join forces to raise their 15-year-old boy." ABC Studios and The Mark Gordon Company are behind the half-hour with Gordon, Deborah Spera and Andrea Shay executive producing alongside co-creators Windor and Johnson.
MIKE & MOLLY (CBS) - Reno Wilson ("Heist") and Katy Mixon ("Eastbound & Down") have both joined the cast of the multi-camera comedy pilot, about "Mike Biggs, an overweight charming police officer, and Molly Flynn, a pretty and plump woman, who meet at Overeaters Anonymous." He'll play Carl McMillan, "Mike's partner at the police department who teases him mercilessly," while Mixon is set as Victoria Flynn, Molly's older sister. Mark Roberts penned the half-hour, which comes from Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre Productions.
PERFECT COUPLES (NBC, New!) - The Peacock has ordered a pilot for a new multi-camera comedy from Jon Pollack ("30 Rock") and Scott Silveri ("Joey"). Said half-hour revolves around "three couples at various stages of their relationships." Andy Ackerman ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") is attached to direct and executive produce while Universal Media Studios is producing. Pollack, who's also behind Adam Carolla's untitled project at the network, is executive producing alongside Silveri.
REAGAN'S LAW (CBS, New!) - Emmy-winners Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green ("The Sopranos") have booked a pilot order from the Eye for a new drama about a multi-generational family of New York-based cops. The pair penned the hour and are executive producing alongside Leonard Goldberg. CBS Television Studios is producing.
SECRETS OF THE MOUNTAIN (A.K.A. THE MOUNTAIN) (NBC) - The Peacock has quietly slated the two-hour backdoor pilot for Friday, April 16 at 8:00/7:00c. Barry Bostwick and Paige Turco co-star in the project, about "a single mom (Turco) with three kids who inherits a remote mountain cabin from a supposedly dead uncle (Bostwick) who turns out to be very much alive, and they set out to keep an evil buyer from gaining access to the mountain that holds secrets and treasures." Doug Barr wrote and directed the project for Muse Entertainment.
UNTITLED ADAM CAROLLA PROJECT (NBC) - Megan Hilty ("Desperate Housewives") has scored a role on the comedy pilot, which stars Carolla "as a contractor who embarks on rebuilding his life after a divorce." She'll play trophy wife Suzie Graham-Sussman, "a ball-busting client from hell who has hired Carolla and his crew to remodel her kitchen." Carolla, Kevin Hench and Jon Pollack co-wrote the single-camera half-hour, which is set up at Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun.
UNTITLED MEDICAL PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Hannah Shakespeare ("The Philanthropist") has landed a pilot commitment at the Eye for a new drama about "a roaming medical team that travels the U.S. helping those less fortunate get through life-or-death medical crises." The project is set up at Warner Bros. Television and John Wells Productions with Wells executive producing and Shakespeare serving as a co-executive producer.
