LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC is giving "Wipeout" a spring session while its freshman entry "No Ordinary Family" is being cut by two episodes.
The moves were confirmed to the site by network sources this afternoon:
-- The Alphabet has trimmed "Family" to 20 episodes with its season finale set for Tuesday, April 5 at 8:00/7:00c. Episode 17 ("No Ordinary Love") airs this coming Tuesday (March 1) followed by two weeks of repeats before the last three of the season begin on March 22. It's not clear what will fill the hour come April 12.
-- "Spring Wipeout" will roll out on Thursday, March 17 and fill the 8:00/7:00c hour until the launch of "Take the Money and Run" on April 14.
-- And finally, an original "Private Practice" has been booked for Thursday, March 17 at the special time of 9:00/8:00c followed by an encore of "Off the Map" at 10:00/9:00c. The special broadcast evens the episode counts for "Grey's Anatomy" and "Practice," which was pulled on January 13 for a last-minute encore of "Map's" premiere.
