TY PENNINGTON JOINS FASHION GURU TIM GUNN FOR "THE REVOLUTION," ABC DAYTIME'S NEW DAILY SHOW ABOUT HEALTH AND LIFESTYLE TRANSFORMATIONS

"The Revolution" Premieres in January 2012

Ty Pennington, the inspiring and passionate host of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," joins "The Revolution," ABC Daytime's new daily show about health and lifestyle transformations, it was announced today by Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney/ABC Television Group. Pennington joins previously announced "Project Runway" star Tim Gunn and renowned fitness and nutrition expert Harley Pasternak in a quest to help viewers take positive steps toward a better way of life. "The Revolution" team will help viewers with complete transformations in all areas of their lives, including family, physical and emotional well-being, fashion, home design, personal finance, food, jobs and more. In addition to being a motivating and interactive resource for viewers at home, the show features a unique concept: each week one woman's five-month weight loss journey will unfold in just five days, with daily results and a final transformation reveal on Friday. "The Revolution" will premiere in January 2012.

"Ty's passionate and deep connection to everyone he helps makes him the perfect choice to join "The Revolution" said Frons. "The energy he brings with him is an excellent complement to our previously named hosts, Tim Gunn and Harley Pasternak. Our goal is to include inspiring and informative motivators as we build "The Revolution" team and continue to evolve our lineup with the type of lifestyle programming that daytime viewers are interested in seeing."

"The Revolution" is produced by 3Ball Productions, the producers of "The Biggest Loser," "Masterchef" and ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition." JD Roth and Todd Nelson serve as executive producers.

Pennington believes that, often, changing your life begins with changing your space and how you live in it. Along with his design expertise, he will also bring his love of food, art, style and his passion for supporting and championing people to go after their dreams to "The Revolution." For the last decade, he has witnessed the impact that having a safe and beautiful home can have on a family, and he will apply this personal credo to "The Revolution." The instantly recognizable sound of Ty Pennington's "Good Morning!" has become an unmistakable sign of hope for families and communities, as he has helped transform the lives of thousands, while inspiring millions more around the world. Under the leadership of the charismatic design and style expert, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is consistently rated among the top 20 of all television programs. It has won two Emmys for Outstanding Reality Program and two People's Choice Awards.

In addition to many international series, Pennington also spearheads a wide range of lifestyle and décor brands under his name, including Ty Pennington Impressions with Westminster Fabrics, and continues his partnership with industry leader Howard Miller, designing new pieces for his Signature Home Furnishings by Ty Pennington. The line features high-quality, casual contemporary furniture that's easily coordinated. Ty Pennington Style is Pennington's seasonal home décor line carried at Sears, and his flooring Ty Pennington Collection for Lumber Liquidators is available in stores and online nationwide.

Pennington's latest book, How Good Design Can Change Your Life (Simon & Schuster), is an intimate look at his design inspirations with décor advice and tips. It followed up his New York Times bestseller Ty's Tricks (Hyperion), which is part reference and part behind-the-scenes in his own home, which he completely remodeled himself. Pennington first won national attention as the quirky and creative carpenter on the groundbreaking home improvement series "Trading Spaces." He lives in Los Angeles.

Previously announced "The Revolution" hosts include Tim Gunn, the star and notable "Mentor" of Lifetime's "Project Runway," and Harley Pasternak, renowned fitness and nutrition expert known for the 5-Factor Fitness diet. Gunn is on a mission to make good style accessible for any women with any body shape, at affordable prices. He will help find that stylish woman inside and can help women express their true selves to the world. Pasternak doesn't believe in spending hours in the gym, and realizes everyone has a limited time. He will help each individual find a personalized diet and fitness plan that works for them.

In April, ABC announced that it was expanding the focus of its daytime lineup to include more programming that is informative and authentic and centers on transformation, food and lifestyle. In addition to "The Revolution," "The Chew" is an innovative and groundbreaking daily talk show that celebrates and explores life through food that premiered on September 26th.
