NBC'S THRILLING NEW TRIVIA COMPETITION SERIES "WHO'S STILL STANDING?" TO DEBUT AS WEEK-LONG STRIP BEGINNING DECEMBER 19

Two-Time Emmy Award Winner Ben Bailey Hosts the Adrenaline-rushing New Competition Show That Keeps Contestants On Their Toes - By Dropping Them Through A Trap Door

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 31, 2011 - NBC announced today that "Who's Still Standing?" - a unique new primetime trivia competition show - will premiere on Monday, December 19 as a week-long strip, airing through Thursday, December 22 (each night 8-9 p.m. ET). The series will then air in its regular broadcast slot starting Monday, December 26 (8-9 p.m. ET) through January 30.

The announcement was made today by Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC.

"This family-friendly series is perfect programming for the holiday season. The compelling and fresh format features the best elements of a classic trivia match combined with physical comedy, providing an intense competition that can be enjoyed by all ages." said Telegdy.

Hosted by two-time Emmy Award winner Ben Bailey ("Cash Cab"), the new series is based on the hit Israeli format entitled "Still Standing," which offers contestants the opportunity to win up to $1 million while competing in head-to-head trivia battles. The series had its global premiere on Israel's Channel 10 in December 2010.

At the start of the trivia competition, there is one main competitor and 10 challengers. The main competitor chooses one of the 10 challengers to go head-to-head with in a trivia battle for a high-stakes pot that can lead them to a $1 million dollar jackpot. If one of the two players answers a question incorrectly they are dropped through a trapped door and are out of the competition. The trivia battles continue until one player is left standing. Ultimately, if the main contestant prevails against the other 10 challengers, he or she can win up to $1 million.

Airing in several countries, the series has been a smash hit overseas. "Still Standing" has just completed its second season on Israel's Channel 10, increasing the channel's primetime ratings by 50% in its twice-weekly broadcasts. Following the huge success of the show's ratings and critical and audience acclaim, the channel has already commissioned the game show's third season, set to air in Spring 2012.

It is also currently airing in Spain (Antena3) and Hungary (M1), and is in development in ten other territories, amongst them France and Germany. In Spain, "Ahora Caigo" (local title) began its run in July 2011, winning its first night on air in prime-time, an accomplishment it continued to achieve throughout its 12-week run. The success of the prime-time version inspired Antena3 to commission from Gest Music (part of the Endemol Group) a daily version of the game show, of which 45 episodes have aired thus far and will continue through December 2011.

In Hungary, MTVA group commissioned 80 episodes to air daily on its main channel M1. Since its launch in October 2011, the game show has become a sensation, doubling the channel's ratings and steadily gaining in its audience each night of its broadcast.

"Who's Still Standing?" is a Universal Television production in association with Armoza Formats. "Minute to Win It's" Craig Plestis and Tim Puntillo serve as executive producers.
