HBO Orders Fourth Season of "Eastbound & Down"

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- HBO extended its wave of good news this afternoon to "Eastbound & Down," ordering a fourth season of the Danny McBride-led comedy.
The eight-episode pickup, as first reported by Variety.com, comes on the heels of today's renewals of "True Blood" and "The Newsroom."
The show's third season averaged 1.030 million viewers and a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 earlier this year, down 25% from its sophomore run (1.355 million viewers, 0.8 adults 18-49 rating) in 2010.
Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, Ben Best and Jody Hill are the executive producers.
