Music Sensation Carly Rae Jepsen to Perform in the Season Premiere of "90210"

LOS ANGELES, July 9, 2012 - Acclaimed artist and nationwide sensation Carly Rae Jepsen will make her first-ever television series appearance in the season premiere episode of 90210. The 90210 season premiere will air Monday, Oct. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on The CW.

Jepsen will perform a song from her much-anticipated new album in the episode where she is the music headliner for Adrianna's (Jessica Lowndes) Las Vegas premiere, which is interrupted when Adrianna gets devastating news about Dixon (Tristan Wilds).

"We fell in love with her song when we first heard it, and used it in last season's finale before it was a national sensation," said Executive Producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen. "We think she's an exciting artist and are thrilled to be able to have her music on the show again, this time in a live performance in our season premiere." Canadian singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen will release her debut album this fall on 604 Records/Schoolboy Records/Interscope. Jepsen will also hit the road with Justin Bieber as a very special guest on the multi-platinum pop/R&B sensation's 2012 headlining tour of North America. For details, please visit www.carlyraemusic.com. Currently claiming the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four consecutive weeks with her platinum-certified debut U.S. single "Call Me Maybe," the ubiquitous "song of summer" has sold more than 3.8 million singles. Certified quintuple-platinum in Jepsen's native Canada (where it hit #1), the track is an international sensation, climbing to #1 in the iTunes Singles charts in the U.S. U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Norway and more.

Jepsen may be a newcomer in the U.S., but the Mission, British Columbia, native is an established artist in Canada. She has scored two previous gold singles and received numerous awards and accolades, including the 2012 MuchMusic "Video of the Year" award, the viewer-decided "UR Fave Video of the Year" and the MuchMusic.com "Most Watched Video" award. She has also been nominated for 2010 Juno Awards "Songwriter of the Year" and "Best New Artist," in addition to a 2010 MuchMusic Video Award nomination for "UR Fave New Artist." Carly has sold more than 400,000 singles in her home country and is signed to 604 Records in Canada. Carly's new single with Owl City, "Good Time," is out now.
