GSN ANNOUNCES PREMIERE OF "THE PYRAMID" ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3

Game Show Joins Original Series Premieres "The American Bible Challenge" and "Beat The Chefs" set for Thursday, August 23

Santa Monica, CA - July 12, 2012 - GSN announced the premiere date for its original series, THE PYRAMID, a contemporary take on one of television's most beloved game shows, hosted by television executive producer and Beauty and the Geek host Mike Richards. THE PYRAMID is a daily strip show airing Monday through Friday at 6 pm ET, and will premiere on Monday, September 3 at 6 pm ET.

THE PYRAMID is back in an all-new, half-hour version of the fast-paced word guessing game. The celebrities, the Pyramid game board, the Winner's Circle: everything viewers know and love about the iconic format is returning in GSN's lively new version. The series, a winner of nine Daytime Emmy(R) Awards during its storied 40-year run, brings a contemporary sensibility, tone and style to a beloved franchise and will accompany the hit show, THE NEWLYWED GAME in GSN's "Iconic Game Reinvented" category.

THE PYRAMID joins the previously announced new shows on GSN this fall: THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE and BEAT THE CHEFS, which are the first of GSN's "Shiny Floor Game" category - contemporary studio-based game shows that focus on themes prevalent in pop culture. THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE, an original one-hour game show hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, will premiere on Thursday, August 23 at 8 pm ET/PT. BEAT THE CHEFS, an hour-long cooking competition show with host Matt Rogers, will also premiere on Thursday, August 23 at 9 pm ET/PT.

THE PYRAMID host Mike Richards currently serves as an Executive Producer for "The Price is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal" and has created, produced and hosted several shows throughout his career. He is a three-time Daytime Emmy(R) Award nominee, including a nomination for this year's Daytime Emmy(R) Awards for "Let's Make a Deal." As the senior producer of the 2001 NBC daytime strip, "The Other Half," Richards worked with Dick Clark. When the daytime strip ended its run, Clark brought on Richards as Vice President of Development and Current Series at dick clark productions, where he produced multiple episodes of ABC's "Bloopers," the WB's "Family Television Awards," "TV Guide's Greatest Moments of the Year" for ABC and "The DVD Awards" for FX. Continuing to excel both behind the camera and in front, Richards has been a correspondent for the American Music Awards and for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" with Regis Philbin. In addition, Richards served as host of the CW reality television series "Beauty and the Geek" as well as the WB reality series "High School Reunion" and "Dailies" on ReelzChannel.

THE PYRAMID is produced by Embassy Row in association with Sony Pictures Television with Michael Davies and Maureen FitzPatrick as executive producers. In addition to "The Newlywed Game" and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," Davies has brought audiences fan-favorite shows such as "Power of 10," Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" and "Kathy," Oxygen's "The Glee Project" and the GSN original "Chain Reaction." Maureen FitzPatrick has been a producer on "Donny & Marie" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
