PITCH PERFECT CAST TO PERFORM FOR THE FIRST TIME LIVE AS PART OF THE OPENING NUMBER OF THE "MTV MOVIE AWARDS" SUNDAY, APRIL 14 9:00 PM ET/PT ON MTV

Opening Number will Reunite the Cast with "Pitch Perfect" Director, Jason Moore, for a Never-Before-Heard Musical Mash-Up

New York, April 4, 2013 - MTV today announced the stars of the hit musical comedy, "Pitch Perfect," will kick off the "2013 MTV Movie Awards" with a musical bang as they come together for the first time on stage to debut a never-before-heard musical mash-up LIVE on Sunday, April 14th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

"Pitch Perfect" stars: Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Esther Dean, Adam DeVine, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ben Platt, Brittany Snow and host Rebel Wilson will re-unite as the dueling college a cappella groups, The Barden Bellas and Treblemakers, for one not-to-miss musical performance conceived and executed by the film's director, Jason Moore.

"I could not be more thrilled for the MTV Movie Awards to be the setting for the Pitch Perfect Bella & Treblemaker reunion," said Jason Moore. "We have something exciting in store for the MTV audience, and I know the cast and the fans are going to really enjoy our first-ever live performance!"

The film, which continues to successfully over perform in all facets of home entertainment, is nominated for four MTV Movie Awards this year, including "Best Female" and "Best Breakthrough Performances" (Rebel Wilson), "Best Musical Moment" (Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean and Hana Mae Lee) and "Best WTF Moment" (Anna Camp, Hack-Appella).

The "2013 MTV Movie Awards" will serve as the official kick off to the Summer Blockbuster season with rising superstar and host Rebel Wilson set to go off and deliver the show's trademark irreverent celebration of the movies, actors and music that audiences love LIVE. Wilson will be joined by MTV's Inaugural "Comedic Genius Award" recipient Will Ferrell, who is nominated for "Best On-Screen Duo" with Zach Galifianakis for "The Campaign," "Trailblazer Award" recipient Emma Watson who is nominated in three categories including "Best Female Performance," "Best Kiss" and "Best Musical Moment" for her role in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," along with special musical performances by Selena Gomez and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Steve Carell, Melissa McCarthy, Zac Efron, Kerry Washington, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Amanda Seyfried, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Zachary Quinto are confirmed to present. "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth will be on-hand to introduce the two-and-a-half minute never-before-seen official teaser trailer for the long awaited second installment of Lionsgate's Hunger Games film franchise, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." Additional presenters will be announced at a later date.

As in previous years, the category of "Movie of the Year" will remain an ongoing battle throughout the 22nd annual "2013 MTV Movie Awards" telecast.
