D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black to Host TBS's "Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host"

Series Slated to Premiere in Late 2013

Comedians D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black have signed on to host the TBS original series Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host, the first game show in which two hosts duel to deceive contestants. Slated to premiere in late 2013, Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host comes to TBS from Mark Burnett's One Three Media and the London-based Monkey. Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, The Apprentice, Shark Tank) and Monkey founders Will MacDonald and David Granger (Made in Chelsea, Make My Day) serve as executive producers.

In Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host, Hughley and Black will each present the single contestant with a bizarre and seemingly implausible fact, one of which is true, the other of which is not. The contestant must then choose the true fact to be rewarded in the game. The players who prove themselves to be super-human lie detectors will go home with a pocketful of cash.

"This is a game show where a host is legitimately trying to convince a contestant to choose the wrong answer," said Burnett. "D.L. and Michael's comedic styles are perfect for pulling this off. The comedy itself will be must-see television."

"It's great to have D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black on board for TBS's Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "They possess the comedic instincts, sharp improvisational skills, sense of fun and easygoing charm necessary to earn the trust of contestants in this clever, one-of-a-kind game show from Mark Burnett, Will MacDonald and David Granger."

One of the most popular and highly recognized standup comedians on the road today, D.L. Hughley has also made quite an impression in the television, film and radio arenas. He was mostly recently seen on the 16th season of the ABC hit show Dancing with the Stars, alongside partner Cheryl Burke. First and foremost a standup comedian, Hughley's fifth stand-up special Reset premiered on Showtime in 2012. Hughley also created and starred in the comedic documentary special for Comedy Central entitled D.L. Hughley: The Endangered List, which was honored by both the Television Academy and the Peabody Awards. In addition, Hughley's first humorous book, I Want You to Shut the F*ck Up, was released late last year.

Known for being astute and politically savvy in true comedian style, Hughley served as host of his own late-night talk shows for CNN and Comedy Central. As an actor, Hughley has starred in the popular sitcom The Hughleys, which he also produced, and the Aaron Sorkin drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. His numerous other credits include five standup comedy specials, multiple television hosting appearances and host of a morning radio show in New York. Hughley is represented by ICM Partners and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Michael Ian Black began his comedy career with The State, a sketch comedy troupe he co-founded at New York University in 1988 and which went on to have a successful run on MTV. He then co-created the Comedy Central television series Viva Variety, a fake European variety show. From there, he appeared on several television show before landing the role of Phil Stubbs, the quirky bowling alley manager on NBC's Ed. He followed that with two Comedy Central series: Stella, co-created with Michael Showalter and David Wain, and Michael and Michael Have Issues. Black has since co-starred on the series Reaper, Backwash and Burning Love.

In 2005, Black wrote and directed his first theatrical film, Wedding Daze, starring Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher. His second film as screenwriter, Run, Fatboy, Run, starring Simon Pegg and Thandie Newton, came out in 2007. As a stand-up comedian, Black regularly tours the country. His first album of stand-up comedy, I Am a Wonderful Man, was released in 2007, followed the next year by his first book of humorous essays, My Custom Van (and 50 Other Mind-Blowing Essays That Will Blow Your Mind All Over Face). His first children's book, Chicken Cheeks, was released in 2009, and last year, he released his memoir, You're Not Doing It Right. He is represented by United Talent Agency and Schachter Entertainment.
