MGM Signs BermanBraun to Exclusive Multi-Year Production Deal to Develop New Content
MGM has also signed BermanBraun to a first look deal on all theatrical projects they are developing.

MGM SIGNS BERMANBRAUN TO EXCLUSIVE MULTI-YEAR PRODUCTION DEAL TO DEVELOP NEW CONTENT

Los Angeles (June 18, 2013) - MGM has signed an exclusive multi-year production deal to develop new content with powerhouse media company, BermanBraun. This furthers MGM Television's commitment to create and develop scripted and unscripted programming across broadcast and cable television. The announcement was made today by Gary Barber, Chairman and CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.(MGM) and Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun, founders and partners, BermanBraun.

"We are excited to be in business with BermanBraun, who are proven producers in the television industry and will be integral to our strategy of developing high quality programming," said Barber. "Gail and Lloyd have made an indelible impact in the television and digital space by producing innovative content seen over multiple platforms. In addition to Khanna, BermanBraun will work directly with Steve Stark, President, Television Production, MGM Television. On the BermanBraun side, Gene Stein, President of Television will be leading their team in the new venture.

MGM has also signed BermanBraun to a first look deal on all theatrical projects they are developing and will work directly with Jonathan Glickman, President, Motion Picture Group, MGM. The theatrical executive from BermanBraun is Andrew Mittman, Head of Feature Film Development.

Over the past year, MGM Television has announced several new series and shows, while distributing content around the globe. MGM Television brought the dramatic scripted series "Vikings" to HISTORY, which was picked up for a second season; co-produces "Teen Wolf" with MTV, currently in its third season; received a straight-to-series commitment from FX on a new series based on the film "Fargo," with executive producers Noah Hawley, Joel & Ethan Coen and Warren Littlefield.

In the Fall, Orion Television, another MGM company, will distribute "Paternity Court," a half-hour, high-stakes courtroom show with legal and relationship expert Lauren Lake presiding as judge. MGM Television is also the U.S. distributor for "Right this Minute," a popular series fueled by web videos.

BermanBraun's television roster includes, the new series "CAMP" (premiering July 10 at 10/9c on NBC); "Garage Sale Wars" (debuted May 10 on HGTV); Polyamory (season two is currently in production for Showtime); and two additional new series to be produced with MythBusters stars Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage for Discovery Channel. The digital division at BermanBraun has created and operates some of the most popular properties online, including Wonderwall, GLO, Pawnation, Mandatory, Skye and Mom.me.

BermanBraun has a couple of features in development at major studios. A comedy starring Ben Stiller called "Rentaghost" at Fox and a movie version of the best-selling self-help book, "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" starring Reese Witherspoon at Lionsgate Summit.
