LONG MILE HOME (FOX, New!) - Pulitzer Prize winners Scott Helman and Jenna Russell's book, which "focuses on the real-life stories of five people whose lives are changed forever in two deafening blasts at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon," is being developed as an event series at the network. Writer/director Rod Lurie (Straw Dogs) is spearheading the project, with Basil Iwanyk and Kent Kubena of Thunder Road Pictures also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Michael McKean has been tapped as the first new cast member to join AMC's upcoming series "Better Call Saul" as Dr. Thurber, "a brilliant attorney who is now restricted by an unusual affliction" (Deadline.com); Terry Crews is set to succeed Cedric the Entertainer as host of the syndicated game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" following the current season (Deadline.com); and Zoe Jarman's Betsy Putch won't return as a series regular next season on "The Mindy Project" (TVLine.com).
