Live Coverage Begins Sunday, May 11 at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN

NBC Will Air Final Stage Live On Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m. ET

Stamford, CT - May 8, 2014 - NBC Sports Group presents 16 hours of live coverage of the 2014 Amgen Tour of California, starting 5 p.m. ET Sunday, May 11, on NBCSN and culminating with NBC's live coverage of the premier U.S. cycling event's final stage on Sunday, May 18 at 1 p.m. ET.

128 cyclists compete in the eight-day, more than 720-mile race, divided into 16 squads, nine of which are registered UCI Pro teams, cycling's top-tier competitors. Top American contenders include Taylor Phinney (BMC Racing Team), who won the overall title at the Dubai Tour in February and sprint specialist Fred "Freddie" Rodriguez, the 2013 National Road Race Championship winner (Jelly Belly p/b MAXXIS).

Top international racers include 2012 Tour de France and Olympic gold-medal winner Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky); Mark Cavendish, who has 25 Tour de France stage wins to his name (Omega Pharma - Quick-Step); and Peter Sagan, who holds 10 Amgen Tour of California stage wins (Cannondale Pro Cycling).

The Amgen Tour of California begins Sunday, May 11 in Sacramento, weaving through Folsom, San Jose, Central California and Los Angeles County to conclude in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, May 18.

COMMENTATORS: Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen and 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge winner Christian Vande Velde will be on site in California to provide commentary and insight for each day of NBC Sports Group's coverage with reporters Steve Schlanger and Steve Porino ('Inside-the-Race').
