MAX MARTINI TO GUEST STAR IN USA NETWORK'S GLOBE-TROTTING ESPIONAGE DRAMA "COVERT AFFAIRS"

Highly Anticipated Fifth Season to Premiere Tuesday, June 24 at 10/9c

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA - May 28, 2014 - Max Martini ("Captain Phillips," "Pacific Rim") has been tapped as a guest star in USA Network's globe-trotting hit espionage series, COVERT AFFAIRS, which returns for its fifth season on Tuesday, June 24 at 10/9c. Previously announced guest stars include Perrey Reeves, Nazneen Contractor, Amy Jo Johnson and Michael A. Goorjian.

Martini will star as Nathan Mueller, a former CIA operative who resurfaces after mysteriously going off the grid. When Annie (Piper Perabo) comes face-to-face with Nathan, she's unsettled to discover they share similar inner demons.

Martini is an accomplished actor who has appeared in several blockbuster films and notable television series. In film, Martini's latest starring role is in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, which is currently in production. Martini recently acted alongside Tom Hanks in Paul Greengrass' Academy Award nominated film "Captain Phillips" and David Ayer's "Sabotage." In 2013, he starred in Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim." Additional film credits include "Colombiana," "The Great Raid," and "Contact." In television, Martini currently stars in "Crisis" and is perhaps best known for his role in "The Unit." Additional television appearances include "Revenge," "CSI," "Hawaii Five-0," "Lie To Me," "White Collar," "Castle," "Burn Notice," and many more. Martini is represented by ICM and Anonymous Content.

COVERT AFFAIRS stars Golden Globe(R)-nominated Perabo ("Looper"), Christopher Gorham ("Ugly Betty"), Peter Gallagher ("The O.C."), Kari Matchett ("Invasion"), Hill Harper ("CSI: NY") and Nic Bishop ("Body of Proof"). Recently announced guest stars this season include Michael A. Goorjian, Perrey Reeves and Amy Jo Johnson.

Season five of the series picks up after CIA operative Annie fakes her death, alters her identity and goes deep undercover in the streets of Hong Kong to defeat her most cunning opponent, Henry Wilcox (guest star Gregory Itzin). The new season will examine the price Annie will have to pay for this risky maneuver and the implications it will have on her relationships - both personally and professionally - as she attempts to re-emerge into the world she once knew.

From Universal Cable Productions, COVERT AFFAIRS was created, written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and is executive produced by Doug Liman (SUITS, the "Bourne" trilogy, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith"), David Bartis (SUITS, "The O.C.") and Gene Klein (SUITS) through Hypnotic. Stephen Kay ("Sons of Anarchy"), Sean Ryerson ("Bait," "Beyond Rangoon"), Stephen Hootstein ("What About Brian") and Henry Alonso Myers ("Ugly Betty," "Chuck") also serve as executive producers. The series shoots in Toronto.
