COMEDY CENTRAL'S(R) "THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART" NEWEST CORRESPONDENT MICHAEL CHE MAKES HIS DEBUT TONIGHT AT 11:00 P.M. ET/PT ON THE BEST F*&#ING NEWS TEAM EVER!

Che's First Stand-Up Special to Premiere This Friday, June 6 at 12:30 a.m. ET/PT As Part of the Premiere Block of the New Season of "The Half Hour" Stand-Up Series

NEW YORK, June 4, 2014 - Michael Che will make his first appearance tonight at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT reporting on current election news as the newest correspondent on Comedy Central's Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."

In April, Comedy Central announced that Che will be joining the talented roster of "The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!" which includes Samantha Bee, Jordan Klepper, Jason Jones, Jessica Williams, Lewis Black, John Hodgman, Al Madrigal, Aasif Mandvi, Kristen Schaal and Larry Wilmore.

This week also marks the premiere of Che's first stand-up special which is scheduled to air this Friday, June 6 on Comedy Central as part of the premiere block of the new season of "The Half Hour" stand-up series.

Recently a writer on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," Michael Che (@CheThinks) has enjoyed a meteoric rise as a stand-up comedian. In 2013, Che was named by Rolling Stone as one of "The 50 Funniest People" and as one of Variety's "10 Comics to Watch." The year prior, he was crowned the winner of New York's Funniest Stand-Up competition at the New York Comedy Festival. The New York Times describes him as possessing "a reflective, laid-back stage presence with jokes that draw as much from his city upbringing... as from blunt, insightful points that bring the abstract into focus."

In February of 2014, Che became the first standup comedian to perform on NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (video). This marks his second late night appearance following his 2012 late night television debut on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman." Other credits include Comedy Central's "@midnight" and "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" (video), VH1's "Best Week Ever," MTV's "Money from Strangers" and "Inside Joke" (video), and IFC's comedy game show "Bunk."

Che headlines comedy clubs and colleges nationally and internationally and has performed at The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, South Beach Comedy Festival, The Moontower Comedy Festival, Bonnaroo, The Montreal Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Jon Stewart, Steve Bodow, Jen Flanz, Jill Katz and Adam Lowitt are the Executive Producers of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" with Tim Greenberg and Hillary Kun as Co-Executive Producers. Supervising Producers are Pam DePace, Justin Melkmann and Stuart Miller. Kahane Cooperman is Producer. The series' Head Writer is Elliott Kalan and it is directed by Chuck O'Neil.

"The Daily Show" airs Monday-Thursday at 11:00 p.m. and repeats at 1:00 a.m. the same night and at 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. the following day (all times ET/PT).
