VAMP (ABC, New!) - Writer Amy B. Harris ("The Carrie Diaries") and director Adam Shankman ("Glee") have sold a potential drama to the Alphabet about "a ballerina who comes to New York with her mother - a woman who gave up her dreams for her family - only to find her mother's past in Manhattan may affect her future. Looking for release from the rigors of ballet and the society world she doesn't understand, this young ingénue finds her escape dancing at Vamp - New York City's most decadent and outrageous nightclub." Warner Bros. Television is behind the project, which has a penalty attached, with A.B. Baby Productions' Harris executive producing alongside Offspring Entertainment' Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot. Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer, Jessica De Gouw and Marin Ireland are reportedly among the actresses testing for the lead in "Marvel's Jessica Jones" while Lance Gross, Mike Colter and Cleo Anthony are up for Luke Cage in the series (Deadline.com); Adria Arjona, Michael Hyatt and Yara Martinez have all scored roles on "True Detective" (Deadline.com); Hugh Laurie is bound for the new season of "Veep" in a yet-to-be-revealed role (EW.com); Billy Baldwin will guest on "Forever" as "a work-hard, play-hard Wall Street CEO who's accustomed to getting things his way and lives his life with a master-of-the-universe charm and top-predator charisma" (EW.com); Merrin Dungey has booked an arc on "Once Upon a Time" as The Little Mermaid villain Ursula (EW.com); and Allison Tolman will guest on "Review with Forrest MacNeil" as "a nurse who becomes involved in Forrest's foray into blackmail (EW.com)".
