HUNTERS (Syfy/UCP; W: Natalie Chaidez; D: TBA) - Australian actor Nathan Phillips is on track to star in the upcoming drama, based on Whitley Strieber's best-selling novel "Alien Hunter," about how the disappearance of a decorated Philadelphia cop's wife leads him to a secret government unit assembled to hunt a group of ruthless terrorists - shadowy figures that may or may not be from this world. He'll play Flynn Carroll, "a former FBI agent suffering from PTSD whose hallucinations get worse from the stress of his wife going missing." (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Netflix has released the third season of "Orange Is the New Black," one day ahead of its previously slated launch (@Netflix); HBO has paused production on its new comedy series "Videosynchrazy" (formerly "Living on Video") over discussions about the show's creative direction (Deadline.com); "Galavant" creator Dan Fogelman has signed a massive four-year, eight-figure overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television for his development services (Deadline.com);
"The Carrie Diaries" creator Amy B. Harris has set up shop at ABC Studios as part of a two-year overall deal where she'll serve as showrunner of newcomer "Wicked City" (Deadline.com); and "The Good Wife" executive producer Keith Eisner has signed a multi-year overall deal with Lionsgate Television where he'll serve as an executive producer on the studio's upcoming Epix series "Graves" (Deadline.com).
