GUNSIGHTS (AMC, New!) - Chris Provenzano ("Justified") is developing a new drama at the cable channel based on Elmore Leonard's 1979 novel of the same name. Said effort, set in 1893, "centers on two tough men and friends, scout Dana Moon and Army man Brendan Early, who used to work together, including a mission chasing an Apache chief into Mexico. Now, the two former partners are on the opposite sides of a conflict between a mining company and a scattering of settlers on an Arizona mountainside: Apaches, Mexicans, and former 10th Cavalry regulars. Brendan is employed by the mining company attempting to drive the settlers out of their homes, while Dana is an Indian agent, defending them." Provenzano penned the script and will executive produce via his new overall deal with AMC Studios. (Deadline.com)

Z (Amazon, New!) - Christina Ricci is set to star in and executive produce a new pilot at the distributor about "celebrated American novelist (and wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald) Zelda Fitzgerald." Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin penned the script for Killer Films. (TVLine.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Richard Cabral and Elvis Nolasco are the latest "American Crime" co-stars set to return for season two in new roles (Deadline.com); Molly Bernard's Lauren Hiller has been promoted to series regular on TV Land's "Younger" (Deadline.com); Jax Media has begun production on their first self-funded pilot presentation, a comedy titled "Search Party" (THR.com);
