NBCUniversal TV Distribution Announces Production Development Deal with Shaun Robinson
Robinson, who has served as co-anchor of "Access Hollywood Weekend" and correspondent for "Access Hollywood" since 1999, will be leaving the entertainment news show to focus on her development and production endeavors.

NBCUNIVERSAL TV DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCES PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH SHAUN ROBINSON

Los Angeles, CA--June 24, 2015--NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution has signed a television development deal with Emmy(R) Award-winning journalist, TV host, producer and author, Shaun Robinson. It was announced today by Linda Finnell, Senior Vice President, Programming, NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution.

The deal will give Robinson's production company, Robinhood Productions, Inc., the opportunity to develop and/or produce scripted and unscripted television projects across all platforms for NBCU's domestic distribution division. Robinson, who has served as co-anchor of "Access Hollywood Weekend" and correspondent for "Access Hollywood" since 1999, will be leaving the entertainment news show to focus on her development and production endeavors.

"It's been an extraordinary 16 years here at 'Access Hollywood' and I am going to miss all my friends here because we are truly like a family. Television has changed so much since I first sat at the anchor desk and it's time to take my career to the next level. There are so many more opportunities awaiting me, both on-camera and as a producer. I'm extremely excited about creating fun and meaningful content through my production company, RobinHood Productions, Inc., focusing specifically on empowering women and girls about which I am so passionate. I will certainly be back in front of the camera soon and I look forward to announcing my next on-air role in the near future."

About Shaun Robinson:

Shaun Robinson is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and author. While at "Access Hollywood," Robinson has interviewed Hollywood's biggest stars and covered countless red carpets and events including the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Emmy's and Grammy's, and co-hosted "Access Hollywood's" coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, just to name a few.

Robinson co-hosted NBC's "Miss Teen USA Pageant", anchored NBC's coverage of the "Tournament of Roses Parade" and was co-host of the ShoWest Awards. She has co-hosted the official pre-shows for Academy Awards and Golden Globes. She has served as a presenter for the Latin Grammy's, "Soul Train Music Awards," "Stellar Gospel Awards," "Lady of Soul Awards" and the UNCF "An Evening of Stars" celebration. In addition, Robinson has also been seen as a guest co-host on "Access Hollywood Live and "The View" and has contributed reports for NBC News "Today" show, MSNBC, CNN, "NBC Nightly News" and served as a panel guest on "Larry King Live" as well as "Piers Morgan Live." Robinson's live coverage of "A Grand Night in Harlem" for the Black Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame, garnered her an Emmy Award.

Robinson has been featured in the pages of In Style, Self, Us Weekly, Essence and Ebony, Precious Times and Life & Style magazines. She has been a featured columnist for the Huffington Post, Cosmo and Essence.com.

Robinson has been able to show her acting skills on both television and film. Her credits include "Bruce Almighty," "America's Sweethearts," "Dr. Dolittle 2," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Real Husbands of Hollywood", "Last Man Standing", "Everybody Hates Chris," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "DIRT," "Charmed," "She Spies," "The Parkers," "The Proud Family," "Half & Half," "Days of our Lives," and "Any Day Now."

She began her professional career in the Midwest as a medical reporter and weekend anchor for WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Wisc., where her series on "Women and Cancer" garnered her an Associated Press Award. Before joining "Access Hollywood," Robinson was a reporter and anchor for WSVN-TV in Miami, Fla.

Off the red carpet, Robinson served as a board member for the national girls empowerment organization, Girls, Inc., and is appointed to the advisory board of the United Nations Foundation organization, Girl Up. She also served as the Los Angeles County spokesperson for the "Share Your Heart, Share Your Home" program, which helps to find permanent homes for African-American children waiting for adoption. Robinson is a successful author, whose book on 'Girls and Self Esteem' called "Exactly As I Am: Celebrated Women Share Candid Advice with Today's Girls on What it Takes to Believe in Yourself" with the Ballantine Publishing Group, a division of Random House, Inc. debuted in Spring 2009. In addition, Robinson was the Los Angeles representative for the JumpStart Coalition's Read for the Record campaign to help bring more awareness to the powerful learning relationships between caring adults and children.

Robinson is a native of Detroit, Mich., and a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta.
