I LOVE DICK (Amazon; W: Sarah Gubbins; D: Jill Soloway) - Kevin Bacon ("The Following") is on track for the title role on the comedy pilot, about "a struggling married couple Chris (Kathryn Hahn) and Sylvere in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas, and their mutual obsession with an off-putting but charismatic professor, Dick." Topple Productions' Soloway and Andrea Sperling are the executive producers with Gubbins serving as a co-executive producer. (THR.com)

SIX (History/A+E; W: David Broyles & William Broyles; D: Lesli Linka Glatter) - Walton Goggins ("Justified") has signed onto the drama series, which follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, the best of the best, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. He'll play Rip Taggart, "the one-time leader of the SEAL Team Six squad who now patrols an African village to protect its residents from Boko Haram." The actor succeeds Joe Manganiello, who bowed out last week over a health issue despite filming nearly two episodes. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - FX is redeveloping its John Singleton-helmed drama pilot "Snowfall" with casting changes (co-star Billy Magnussen has been released) and reshoots expected after a rewrite by showrunner Dave Andron (Deadline.com); Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson are attached to star in a potential small screen adaptation of Herbert Asbury's book "The Barbary Coast" from producer Mark Gordon and director/co-written by Mel Gibson (Deadline.com); Stana Katic and Tamala Jones won't be returning for a proposed ninth season of "Castle" due to "budgetary reasons" (Deadline.com); and Reiko Aylesworth will guest on "NCIS" as "a deployed Marine Master Sergeant's wife whose 14-year-old son foils a home invasion" (TVLine.com).
