DEAD RINGERS (Amazon) - Britne Oldford and Jeremy Shamos have both scored roles on the Rachel Weisz-led drama series, a modern take on David Cronenberg's cult classic 1980s film. Oldford will play Genevieve, "an actress in the midst of her breakout role who meets Elliot and Beverly after a unique check-up"; and Shamos will recur as Joseph, "an earnest, occasionally ruthless associate of the Mantle twins, tasked with raising funds for their most important project." (Deadline.com)
EPIC (ABC) - The Alphabet has opted not to proceed with the fairytale-themed drama pilot from creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and featuring Brittany O'Grady, Sarah Hyland and Eleanor Fanyinka. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Kate Burton is set to reprise her role as the late Dr. Ellis Grey in multiple episodes during the upcoming season. No details on her storyline were given. (Deadline.com)
KIDS TONIGHT SHOW, THE (Peacock) - Brian McCann has been named head writer of the upcoming series, the first major late-night show aimed at children. Lorne Michaels, Jimmy Fallon, Jim Juvonen, Jay Peterson, Todd Lubin, James Sunderland, Paul Ricci, Mark Efman and McCann are the executive producers. Production begins this month in New York with a fully vaccinated audience. (Deadline.com)
POWER (Starz) - Franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp has signed a high eight-figure overall deal with Netflix to develop new series projects through her End of Episode banner. Kemp, who had been based at Lionsgate Television, will remain an executive producer on the various "Power" spin-offs, "Power Book II: Ghost," "Power Book III: Raising Kanan," and "Power Book IV: Force." (Deadline.com)
POWERPUFF GIRLS, THE (The CW) - Chloe Bennet has stepped down as one of the three leads in the live-action pilot, which is being redeveloped/reshoot by the network. It's understood Warner Bros. Television "wanted to extend Bennet's option as they reworked the pilot, but scheduling conflicts forced her to exit instead." (Variety.com)
SEARCH PARTY (HBO Max) - Kathy Griffin will recur on the show's fifth season as Liquorice Montague, "a conspiracy theorist who takes Chantal (Clare McNulty) under her wing as a 'co-dependent apprentice.'" (Variety.com)
