ARMOR WARS (Disney+) - The proposed Don Cheadle-led Marvel Studios project is now reportedly being morphed from a six-episode series into a movie. Head writer Yassir Lester will continue on with writing the feature. (Deadline.com)
BARRY (HBO) - Co-creator Alec Berg has signed a three-year overall deal with ABC Signature, ending his run at HBO after more than 15 years. He'll still continue as an executive producer on the HBO comedy series. (Deadline.com)
DAILY SHOW, THE (Comedy Central) - Trevor Noah announced during tonight's episode he is departing the series after seven years. No specific time frame for his exit however was given. (Deadline.com)
DARK MATTER (Apple TV+) - Alice Braga and Jimmi Simpson have both been cast in the Joel Edgerton-led drama series. Braga will play Amanda, "a psychiatrist"; while Simpson portrays Ryan, "a brilliant neuroscientist and friend of Jason's (Edgerton)." (Deadline.com)
ENGLISH TEACHER (FX) - The Brian Jordan Alvarez-led comedy pilot has cast Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni and Julian Sergi with Carmen Christopher, Jordan Firstman, Yissendy Trinidad and Langston Kerman also on board in recurring roles. Koenig will play Gwendolyn; with Colantoni as Principal Moretti; Sergi as Markie; Christopher as Rick; Firstman as Malcolm; Trinidad as Estela; and Kerman as Harry. Alvarez is also an executive producer along with Paul Simms. (Variety.com)
FULL CIRCLE (HBO Max) - Jim Gaffigan is bound for director Steven Soderbergh's limited series as Manny Broward, "an agent at USPIS battling his own demons who is Harmony's (Zazie Beetz) immediate supervisor." (Deadline.com)
GHOSTS (CBS) - Mathew Baynton, one of the U.K. original's co-creators and stars, will drop by the U.S. incarnation as Actor Pete, "an English method actor who becomes obsessed with "getting to the truth" of Pete Martino (Richie Moriarty's arrow-necked travel agent forever in Scout guise) when he is hired by the TV show Dumb Deaths to recreate the day Pete died." KNOCKOFFS (NBC, New!) - Cameron Litvack is developing a new drama at the network, formally detailed as follows: "Two brothers reunite after a long estrangement and are pulled into a special investigation surrounding closed FBI cases. Known as "Knockoffs," these cases have been manipulated or outright fabricated to pin the crime on someone innocent and protect the real criminal who's still out there." Justin Lin, Andrew Schneider, and Salvador Gatdula of the Universal Television-based Perfect Storm Entertainment will also executive produce along with Noah Rosenberg for Narratively. The latter's article "The First Family of Counterfeit Hunting" by Amy Ridout serves as the project's basis. (Variety.com)
LIMITLESS WITH CHRIS HEMSWORTH (Disney+) - Chris Hemsworth and Ben Grayson's newly formed Wild State banner has signed a first-look deal with National Geographic, producer of the upcoming streaming series. (Deadline.com)
LIONESS (Paramount+) - Taylor Sheridan's CIA drama series has cast Austin Hébert as Randy, "a tech specialist in charge of surveillance and gathering intelligence within the Strike Team of the CIA Special Activities Division operative"; Jonah Wharton as Tex, "a CIA Special Activities Division operative, part of Joe's team that includes Two Cups (James Jordan), Tucker (LaMonica Garrett) and Randy"; and Hannah Love Lanier as Kate, "Joe (Zoe Saldaña) and Neil's (Dave Annable) daughter." MINX (HBO Max) - Elizabeth Perkins is set to recur on the show's second season as Constance, "the wealthy widow of a Greek shipping magnate, in a season-long arc." (Deadline.com)
NEVER GAME, THE (CBS) - Mary McDonnell has signed onto the Justin Hartley-led drama pilot as Mary Dove Shaw, "Colter's (Hartley) solid, strong, and uncompromising mother, who raised her three children on the remote California compound where her husband took them before his mysterious death. She still lives there, self-reliant and upright, the emotional center of Colter's restless life - and the key to the secrets of his past." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LAUREN LUDWIG PROJECT (FX) - Addie Weyrich, Sydney Kuhne and Sabrina Wu have booked the lead roles on the comedy pilot, about "a group of queer twenty-somethings forced by the most unlikely source to confront their generational anxieties and unpack their emotional baggage." Weyrich will play Jane, Kuhne portrays Kima and Wu is Rei, a non-binary character. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED VINCE GILLIGAN PROJECT (Apple TV+) - Jeff Frost, former President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, has signed a first look deal with the company as part of the launch of his Bristol Circle Entertainment banner. He currently serves as an executive producer on the recently ordered drama series. (Deadline.com)
