BORDER, THE (CARTEL TRILOGY SERIES) (FX) - E.J. Bonilla, Frank Blake, Annie Shapero, Sebastián Buitrón and Luis Bordonada are set to star in the network's Don Winslow adaptation, which has been ordered to pilot. Writer Daniel Zelman and director Jayro Bustamante are behind the project, "an epic saga that reveals the dark truths about America's failed 50-year war on drugs," which will also be executive produced by Winslow, Diego Gutierrez and Shane Salerno for FX Productions and Scott Free Productions. Anabel Hernández will serve as a consulting producer. Bonilla will play Art Keller; with Blake as Sean Callan; Shapero as Nora Hayden; Buitrón as Adan Barrera and Bordonada as Miguel Angel Barrera. LIFTED (Amazon, New!) - Liza Mandelup and Mary Bronstein have scored a pilot order from the streamer for a half-hour comedy which "explores the lives of four geographically, socio-economically, and racially diverse American teenage girls united by an online community built around shoplifting. A commentary on identity and how we communicate now, Lifted follows these young, awkwardly funny characters as they attempt to find themselves, form relationships, and discover their power and purpose." Mandelup will direct from a script by the duo with Heidi Schreck also executive producing for A24 and Amazon Studios. Ivy Wolk, Veronica Taylor, Kate Godfrey and Annie Marie Elliot have already been cast in unspecified roles. (Deadline.com)

PRESUMED INNOCENT (Apple TV+) - Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in and executive produce the limited series. He would play Rusty Sabich, "the fervent prosecutor suspected of killing a close colleague when the evidence begins to point to him. The role was played by [Harrison] Ford in the movie." UNDER THE BRIDGE (Hulu) - The streamer's Rebecca Godfrey adaptation has cast Chloe Guidry as Josephine Bell, "leader of the CMC (Crip Mafia Cartel, a "gang" she and her friends started) and dreams of growing up to be a hitman for New York mobster John Gotti"; Izzy G as Kelly Ellard, "a founding member of the CMC and will do anything to prove her loyalty to her crew"; and Ezra Faroque Khan as Manjit Virk, "Reena's father, a gentle soul trying his best to understand his daughter during her adolescent transformation"; alongside previously announced lead Riley Keough, who will play Godfrey.
