MY TROPICAL ROMANCE (Peacock, New!) - The streamer has commissioned a new reality format "in which fluid couples and singletons explore their sexuality on an island." Adding, "the show is seeking couples and single people who are adventurous and open-minded, with a fluid approach to dating and an interest in exploring non-monogamous relationships." James Lessell, Matt Cox, Tom O'Brien and Simon Andreae of the Fremantle-backed UK producer Naked are the executive producers. (Deadline.com, 2/20)
SEX EDUCATION (Netflix) - Emma Mackey has indicated her upcoming turn on the show's fourth season will be her last. Fellow co-star Ncuti Gatwa has previously indicated the same. (Deadline.com, 2/19)
SOUTH SIDE (HBO Max) - The streamer has declined to pick up a fourth season of comedy series. "While HBO Max will not be moving forward with a fourth season of South Side, we are so proud of the rich world Bashir Salahuddin, Diallo Riddle and Sultan Salahuddin created," said an HBO Max spokesperson. "We thank them and Michael Blieden, Tony Hernandez, the supremely talented cast and crew and our partners at MTV Entertainment Studios. For three seasons, this beloved series balanced cutting, hyperlocal social commentary about life on the South Side of Chicago with silly, sometimes zany humor. The result was a wholly unique, ambitious, and fearless comedy that could speak to everyone living the American dream." (Deadline.com)
STICKY, THE (Amazon) - Margo Martindale and Chris Diamantopoulos have socored the lead role on the upcoming comedy series: "'The Sticky' revolves around Ruth Clarke (Martindale), a tough, supremely competent middle-aged Canadian maple syrup farmer who's had it with being hemmed in by the polite, bureaucratic conventions native to her country's identity. Especially now that that very bureaucracy is threatening to take away everything she loves: Her farm, her comatose husband, and her right to freedom. With the help of Remy Bouchard, a local blockhead and Mike Byrne (Diamantopoulos), a low-level mobster, Ruth changes her fate - and transforms the future of her community with the theft of millions of dollars' worth of maple syrup. Brian Donovan, Ed Herro, Jonathan Levine, Gillian Bohrer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Josée Vallée, Bruno Dubé, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Michael Dowse and Chris Dickie are the executive producers with Lauren Grant as a co-executive producer. Steven Spielberg is among the featured auspices on the project, originally developed by the late Stanley Kubrick in the 1970s as a film. Director Cary Joji Fukanaga and writer David Auburn had been attached back in 2016 but it's unclear if they are still on board. (Deadline.com)
WINCHESTERS, THE (The CW) - Ruth Connell will reprise her role as "the wickedly wonderful Rowena" in the 12th episode of "Supernatural" prequel series. (EW.com)
