ACCUSED (FOX) - Sonequa Martin-Green, Mike Colter, Jamie Chung, Sherri Saum, and Kiara Barnes are the latest faces bound for the anthology series. (Deadline.com, 9/27)
ALL AMERICAN (The CW) - Osy Ikhile and Nathaniel McIntyre have both joined the cast of the show's seventh season, which will also see the return of Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, and Bre-Z as well as Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaeze promoted to regulars. Daniel Ezra exited the series at the end of last season but will return for guest appearances and to direct. According to the official logline, "Season 7 is taking it back to where it all began: Beverly Hills High and South Crenshaw High. It's the same heart, same NFL dream, same crosstown rivalry, same messy hormones, ushered in by a new generation of LA teens, a new Beverly Coach and our OG vortex fam, who are surprised to find they're supposed to be the responsible adults now." Ikhile will play Cassius Jeremy, "the new football coach at Beverly High"; with McIntyre as Kingston Jeremy, aka KJ, "Beverly High's newly transferred quarterback." (Deadline.com, 9/24)
ALL'S FAIR (Hulu) - Matthew Noszka has scored a lead role on the drama series, which stars Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close. He's believed to be playing the love interest to Kardashian's character. (Deadline.com, 9/25)
ANNE RICE'S THE TALAMASCA (AMC) - Elizabeth McGovern has been cast as Helen in the series, described as "a seasoned veteran of the Talamasca, and the leader of its New York Motherhouse. She has long suspected that London's Motherhouse has fallen under the influence of traitorous elements, and a mysterious death prompts her to recruit Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton), who will become her protégé." BLACK CAKE (Hulu) - The drama series, starring Adrienne Warren and Mia Isaac, has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com, 9/27)
CHUCKY (Syfy/USA Network) - The film-turned-TV series will not return for a fourth season. "I'm heartbroken over the news that Chucky won't be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have," executive producer Don Mancini said. "I'd like to thank UCP/Syfy/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky's cold heart. Chucky will return! He ALWAYS come back." (Deadline.com, 9/27)
CORRECTIONS, THE (New!) - Meryl Streep is attached to star in a proposed TV series adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's novel from CBS Studios, which is expected to go out to buyers soon. wiip's Mark Roybal and Nicole Clemens will executive produce alongside Franzen. HBO and Noah Baumbach mounted an effort in 2011, starring Chris Cooper, Dianne Wiest, Ewan McGregor, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rhys Ifans and Greta Gerwig, that didn't move past the pilot stage. DIDDY DO IT (Netflix) - The Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson-produced docuseries, about "about charges of sex trafficking and racketeering as well as sexual assault and violent abuse allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs," is officially a go at the streamer with Alexandria Stapleton directing. Proceeds from the project will be used to support sexual assault victims. (Variety.com, 9/25)
DMV (CBS) - Harriet Dyer has landed a lead role on the comedy pilot as Colette: "The driving examiner with a huge heart, Colette takes the scared and nervous people because she's calming and patient and genuinely roots for them to pass. Smart, self-aware, and working on herself, Colette is adorably neurotic, bad with boundaries, and often prioritizes other peoples' feelings over her own." (Deadline.com, 9/25)
FOUL PLAY (TBS, New!) - NBA All-Star Anthony Davis will front a "docu-style hidden camera unscripted comedy" with the "Impractical Jokers" crew for the network: "The show sees Davis give some of the the greatest athletes in professional sports one shot to score a great prank, or foul out trying. However, unlike other prank shows, Foul Play will let viewers see how everything comes together... and how easily it can fall apart." Grandma's House Entertainment, Bad Woods Entertainment and 4.4.Forty Media are behind the project, which filmed this week and will air in 2025 as a backdoor pilot special. (Deadline.com, 9/27)
GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE (CBS) - Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord and Craig T. Nelson will reprise their "Young Sheldon" roles in the spin-off's Thanksgiving episode. Perry and Potts also appear in the series premiere with Revord likewise in the second episode. (TVLine.com, 9/25)
GOOD DAUGHTER, THE (Peacock) - Jessica Biel has departed the limited series for unspecified reasons. The search is underway for an actor to play Charlotte Quinn. (Deadline.com, 9/24)
INSTITUTE, THE (MGM+) - The Stephen King adaptation has cast Joe Freeman as Luke, "a 14-year-old genius who happens also to be mildly telekenetic"; Fionn Laird as Nick, "The Institute's resident bad-boy rebel"; Hannah Galway as Wendy, "police officer and lifelong resident in the town where Tim is night knocking"; Robert Joy as Hendricks, "the Doctor in charge of The Institute's scientific work"; Martin Roach as Chief Ashworth, "Tim's boss, the small-town Chief of Police"; Viggo Hanvelt as Avery, "the youngest, most innocent, and by far the most powerful of The Institute's inmates"; Julian Richings as Stackhouse, "The Institute's calculating head of security"; Dan Beirne as Drew, "a police officer in the department Tim works for"; Arlen So as George, "The Institute's class clown"; Birva Pandya as Iris, "one of the first kids Luke meets when he arrives at The Institute"; and Jane Luk as Maureen, "an Institute orderly with a tragic past." MARGO'S GOT MONEY TROUBLES (Apple TV+) - Michelle Pfeiffer will star opposite Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman in the project, in which "Fanning stars as Margo Millet, the child of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler, who has always known she'd have to make it on her own. So she enrolls at her local junior college, even though she can't imagine how she'll ever make a living. She's still figuring things out and never planned to have an affair with her English professor - and while the affair is brief, it isn't brief enough to keep her from getting pregnant. Despite everyone's advice, she decides to keep the baby, mostly out of naiveté and a yearning for something bigger." Written by her real life husband David E. Kelley, Pfeiffer will play Shyanne, "Margo's (Fanning) mother, who had worked at Bloomingdales for the past 15 years, following her six-year stint at Hooters." (Deadline.com, 9/23)
MODERN FAMILY (ABC) - A spin-off series featuring Mitch (Jesse Tylor Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet)'s new life with their kids in Missouri was "on the verge of a green light" in January 2021 but ultimately passed on by the network. Christopher Lloyd, Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh penend the project for 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 9/22)
OVERCOMPENSATING (Amazon) - The Benito Skinner-led comedy series has added Connie Britton as Kathryn, "Benny's helicopter mom and struggling empty nester"; Kyle MacLachlan as John, "Benny's overbearing dad who can't seem to move on from Benny's high school glory days"; Julia Shiplett as Mimi, "Grace's queer, free spirit former friend"; Tommy Do as Kevin, "a Yates University freshman orientation counselor who takes his role very seriously"; Kaia Gerber as Esther, "one of the terrifying and untouchable co-heads of rush for the elite Yates University secret society Flesh & Gold"; Alexandra Beaton as Bridget, "Esther's Flesh & Gold rush co-head who takes great pleasure in running the show"; Claire Qute as Sloan, "a former horse girl and current preppy, posh Yates student"; Elias Azimi as Chris, "an overly confident Yates freshman trying to be the perfect version of a college frat bro"; and Maddie Phillips as Gigi, "a freshman party girl who is down for anything." RAINMAKER, THE (USA Network) - Wade Briggs is bound for the John Grisham adaptation as Brad Noonan, "a high-powered attorney at the Tinley Britt Law Firm and enforcer to the firm's managing partner, Leo Drummond." (Variety.com, 9/27)
ROBOCOP (Amazon, New!) - Peter Ocko has been tapped to spearhead the franchise's latest TV take for Amazon MGM Studios, "focusing on a giant tech conglomerate which collaborates with the local police department to introduce a technologically advanced enforcer to combat rising crime - a police officer who's part man, part machine." James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett of Atomic Monster will also executive produce. (Deadline.com, 9/25)
SCARPETTA (Amazon) - The Nicole Kidman-led drama series has cast Sosie Bacon as Abby Turnball, "a prize-winning reporter"; Amanda Righetti as Past Dorothy; Janet Montgomery as Janet, Lucy's wife; Stephanie Faracy as Present Maggie, "Scarpetta's inherited assistant from her predecessor"; and Mike Vogel as city attorney Bill Boltz. SHIFTING GEARS (ABC) - Michelle Nader has been tapped as showrunner of the upcoming comedy series as part of a new overall deal with the show's producer 20th Television. She'll succeed Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully, who bowed out after the pilot. (Deadline.com, 9/25)
SPIDER-NOIR (MGM+) - Karen Rodriguez has been cast in a series regular role on the Nicolas Cage-led series. (Variety.com, 9/25)
TRACKER (CBS) - Floriana Lima will recur on the show's sophomore run as Camille Picket: "Haunted, attractive... Camille has been Colter's off-and-on lover for at least the past 10 years. Camille's sister went missing 10 years ago and her case was never solved - which brings up some trauma for both Camille and Colter on every anniversary of her disappearance, but also causes them to reconnect, at least for an evening." She'll appear in the season opener alongside Matt Long, Lindy Booth, Enuka Okuma and Ryan Dorsey. (TVLine.com, 9/23)

UNTITLED AMANDA KNOX PROJECT (Hulu) - The limted series has cast John Hoogenakker as Curt Knox, "Amanda Knox's (Grace Van Patten) fun-loving but stoic father who, despite his divorce from her mother, is a great dad to his daughters"; Francesco Acquaroli as Giuliano Mignini, "the Italian prosecutor in Amanda Knox's case"; Giuseppe De Domenico as Raffaele Sollecito, "Amanda Knox's boyfriend at the time of the murder and oft-forgotten co-defendant, a kid of deep principle, who was drawn into her horror story by sheer chance"; and Roberta Mattei as Monica Napoleoni, "the sharp, fashionable, and aggressive head of the homicide division in Perugia, and Mignini's right hand." Sharon Horgan plays Amanda Knox's mother Edda Mellas. (Deadline.com, 9/26)

UNTITLED ROBERT DURST PROJECT (Peacock, New!) - Dara Resnik is spearheading a new true crime series at the streamer "spotlighting the points of view of Robert Durst's female victims and the investigators who believed he was a more prolific serial killer than the world ever knew." Jimmy Fox and Emily Bon of Main Event Media and Matt Birkbeck will also executive produce for Universal Content Productions. (Deadline.com, 9/23)
VIRGIN RIVER/VIRGIN RIVER PREQUEL SERIES (Netflix) - Jessica Rothe and Callum Kerr have been cast in the series as Mel's (Alexandra Breckenridge) late mother Sarah and biological father, Everett, who will appear in flashbacks. "Seen in flashbacks mostly set in or around 1972, Sarah (Rothe) is a witty, free spirit from the big city with an ardent passion for activism, and trying to avoid the conventional/traditional life of a young woman in the '70s. Always up for an adventure, she can't help chasing an instant spark with a handsome musician, Everett (Kerr), that might just be her star-crossed soulmate. Everett is a singer-songwriter with a poet's soul. One day he'll pursue his dreams of the stage, but for now, he's skimming through life in a VW Van, until a chance meeting with a beautiful hitchhiker, Sarah, may just show him there's more to life than he ever thought possible."
