MOTHER KNOWS BEST IS PUT TO THE TEST IN OWN'S NEW LOVE & RELATIONSHIP SERIES "#SOMEBODY'S SON"

Premieres Saturday, April 12 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN

(Los Angeles, Calif.) - Today, OWN announced its latest love and relationship series, #Somebody's Son, a one-of-a-kind dating journey in the world of Black love, romance and family, premiering Saturday, April 12 at 9pm ET/PT on OWN. The series is derived from the popular hashtag (#SomebodysSon) that celebrates the search for Black love, bringing the online sensation to life on screen. It follows three charming, single and successful men as they embark on a high stakes search for true love, looking for a lasting partner amongst a group of exceptional single women. But there's someone extra along for the ride -- each of their mothers will be joining them on this adventure, offering guidance, support and a little drama as they help (or attempt to help) their sons find the one. Through competitive challenges, bonding activities and heartfelt moments, the moms play a pivotal and sometimes divisive role in determining if mother truly knows best when it comes to matters of the heart.

Each bachelor will be introduced to four women, all with very high standards of their own. The ladies are eager to meet their potential match but will be shocked when they discover that the mothers will not only be guiding their sons through the entire experience, they'll also be living under the same roof with their sons and the daters. And unlike many other dating shows, even after the men (and their moms) think they've found their perfect match doesn't mean the deal is done. These single women are independent and successful on their own, and the men need to prove themselves worthy of a happily ever after with them.

Meet the cast of #Somebody's Son:

Joshua, a 28-year-old NFL Free Agent, and his aunt Oma, a nurse who has been Josh's primary mother figure in life, look for a chill and ambitious partner. Joshua's potential matches are Lexi, a tech marketing manager; Martha, a nurse; Chambriel, a mortgage broker; and Tamerras, a news producer.

James, a 29-year-old cyber security engineer, and his mother Charlease, a founder/managing partner, desire a traditional relationship. James' potential matches include Bre'Von, an HR manager; Chisom, an IT consultant; Sabranae, a property manager; and Alyssia, a digital marketing coordinator.

Chadd, a 30-year-old SEC financial reporting analyst, and his mother Katina, a cosmetologist and minister, seek a woman of faith ready to start a family. Chadd's potential matches include Miranda, a corporate HR professional; Loren, a hair stylist and salon owner; Jasmine, an esthetician; and Paige, a business analyst and sports broadcaster.
