Heartwarming Family Drama THE STREET WHERE I LIVE Makes Exclusive US Debut Thursday, April 3, 2025 on Viaplay
Six-Part Viaplay Original Series Stars Current Roxette Singer and
Top-Selling Swedish Musical Artist Lena Philipsson
Popular Swedish musical artist and current singer of Roxette on their international 2025 tour, Lena Philipsson, stars in the new, heartwarming six-part drama series The Street Where I Live - a story of love, neighborhood and unexpected intrigue. Centered on a seemingly perfect suburban street where social ties are tested, this breezy series is inspired by Philipsson's hit Swedish song of the same name. In the wake of tragedy, Nina (Philipsson) finds solace and purpose as the cherished pillar of her tight-knit community, navigating the complexities of single parenthood and trying to move on. The Viaplay Original series The Street Where I Live makes its exclusive debut in the U.S. on the Viaplay streaming service on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
A shop owner, Nina is single and lives with her two teenage children on an idyllic residential street. When her husband Erik passed away four years earlier, her neighbors were her greatest support, when the grief was at its heaviest. Nina quickly became the neighbor that everyone wanted to help, and it lasted through the years as she struggled to let go and move on in life. But suddenly she meets a carpenter she's drawn to, Richard (Ilkka Villi, Bordertown, Invisible Heroes), and cannot avoid falling for him. It proves to be a love affair that not only affects her, but her family and all of her neighbors in dramatic and unforeseen ways.
In addition to Philipsson and Villi, the cast consists of: Claudia Galli Concha (Suedi, Förrädarna) as Moa, Leif Andrée(Daybreak, Lasermannen) as Rune, Joel Spira (Shame on Dry Land) as Filip, Kajsa Ernst (Darkness: Those Who Kill, Dalecarlians) as Maj, Tom Ljungman (Patrik, Age 1.5) as Theo, Lukas Wetterberg (Clark, Beartown) as Movitz, Jimmy Lindström (Codename: Annika) as father-in-law Lars, Maria Alm Norell (Out Stealing Horses) as Lisa, and Ella Fogelström (Helt Perfekt) as Alma.
Produced by Viaplay Studios, The Street Where I Live (På gatan där jag bor) is directed by Lena Koppel (Bombay Dreams, The Importance of Tying Your Own Shoes) and produced by Cecilia Norman Mardell, with Helena Larand as executive producer for Viaplay. The writer and creator is Viaplay Studios' Mikael Newihl (Max Anger - With One Eye Open, nominated for Best European Drama at the 2021 Festival de la Fiction TV). Worldwide sales are by Viaplay Content Distribution. (Viaplay Original series, 6x45'series, Swedish, w/English subtitles)
Philipsson has had no fewer than 13 albums in the country's top 20-chart since her debut in 1984 and represented Sweden in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest.
