STAMFORD, Conn. - April 8, 2026 - Last night, current WNBA forward/guard Sophie Cunningham announced via her social media platforms that she has joined USA Sports as an Athlete Contributor for its upcoming inaugural season of WNBA coverage on USA Network, adding to the previously announced commentators for USA Sports' coverage of the 2026 WNBA season.

As USA Sports' Athlete Contributor, Cunningham will exclusively join WNBA studio programming on USA Network throughout the regular season and postseason (as playing schedule permits). She will additionally contribute to content across USA Sports' digital and social platforms.

Currently a free agent, Cunningham played last season with the Indiana Fever after spending her first six WNBA seasons with the Phoenix Mercury. Known for her high-energy style, toughness, and three-point shooting, Cunningham had a standout career at the University of Missouri (2015-16 - 2018-19), earning three First-Team All-SEC selections, an AP Third-Team All-American honor, and becoming the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,187 career points.

Cunningham's previous broadcast experience includes being an analyst on the Suns Live! studio show, providing pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage for the Phoenix Suns. She also co-hosts the popular Show Me Something podcast with television personality West Wilson.

Last year, USA Sports and the WNBA announced an 11-year media rights agreement for USA Network to present WNBA games - including the regular-season and portions of the Playoffs and WNBA Finals in select years - beginning with the 2026 season.

As part of the multi-year agreement which runs through 2036, USA Sports will present at least 50 WNBA games annually on USA Network, including coverage of the WNBA Playoffs and WNBA Finals games in select years beginning this year.

USA Sports' WNBA coverage on USA Network will be anchored by Wednesday night doubleheaders featuring marquee matchups across the league. Each broadcast night will also include dedicated pre-game and post-game studio programming, establishing USA Network as a weekly destination for WNBA fans.
