Growing week to week, ABC took second place on Tuesday night in Adults 18-49 (3.3/9-tie), while ranking No. 1 with Women 18-49 (4.2/11-tie).

"Cavemen" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

"Carpoolers" (8:30-9:00p.m.)

Opposite the start of Fox's "American League Championship Series Game 4," ABC's "Carpoolers" held 100% of its lead-in among Total Viewers (7.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.7/7). "Carpoolers" built on its lead-in by 10% among Women 18-49 (3.3/8 vs. 3.0/9), taking second place in its half-hour.

"DWTS the Results Show" towered over its unscripted competition in the time period, NBC's "Biggest Loser," by a best-yet 10.1 million viewers and by 43% in Adults 18-49 ("Biggest Loser" = 6.9 million & 3.0/8). WBC Super Welterweight Boxing Champion Floyd Mayweather was the fourth celebrity dancer to be eliminated from the competition this season.

ABC's "DWTS the Results Show" increased its overall audience for the second straight week, achieving season highs in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

Boston Legal" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Boston Legal" defeated CBS' "Cane" by a best-yet 1.7 million viewers (10.2 million vs. 8.5 million) and by 27% in Adults 18-49 (2.8/8 vs. 2.2/6).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has more than doubled from 9% at this time last year up to 20% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
