TOP MODEL Stays Fierce to Win Time Period with Young Women; Matches Cycle Highs in Key Demos

September 30, 2008 (Burbank, CA) - Against last week's competitive premieres, The CW's primetime line-up scored the largest year-to-year gains in key demos than any other network, for the week ending Sept. 28, 2008. Compared to the same week last year, The CW has improved by 27% in women 18-34 (1.9/5), 25% in adults 18-34 (1.5/4), 18% in adults 18-49 (1.3/3) and 23% in women 18-49 (1.6/4).

Through four weeks of original episodes, The CW has scored tremendous growth on two key nights of programming, Monday and Tuesday. Since premiering on Sept. 1, GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL have delivered year-to-year increases on Monday of 150% in women 18-34 (3.5/10), 140% in adults 18-34 (2.4/7) 108% in women 18-49 (2.5/6), 89% in adults 18-49 (1.7/4), and 56% in viewers (3.3mil). With original episodes of 90210 and PRIVILEGED, The CW has scored growth on Tuesday night by 55% in women 18-34 (3.1/8), 24% in adults 18-34 (2.1/6), 41% in women 18-49 (2.4/6) and 13% in adults 18-49 (1.7/4) compared to a year ago.

Monday, Sept. 22

Facing increased competition, The CW's sophomore sensation GOSSIP GIRL scored its second best performance ever among its target demos of women 18-34 (3.9/11), adults 18-34 (2.4/7) and women 18-49 (2.5/6). GOSSIP GIRL was second in 8:00 hour in women 18-34 and females 12-34 (3.8/11).

Against competitive premieres, The CW had its second best Monday night ever in women 18-34 (3.5/9). The CW beat Fox and CBS on Monday with women 18-34, and finished just a tenth behind NBC.

Compared to its fourth episode last season (10/10/07), GOSSIP GIRL has improved 39% in women 18-34, 41% in adults 18-34, 25% in women 18-49, 23% in adults 18-49 (1.6/4) and 19% in total viewers (3.4mil)

ONE TREE HILL also continues to outpace last season by double-digit percentages, gaining 33% in women 18-34 (3.2/8), 24% in adults 18-34 (2.1/5), 29% in women 18-49 (2.2/5), 15% in adults 18-49 (1.5/3) and 11% in viewers (3.1mil) versus its 4th telecast a year ago (1/29/08).

Overall, the combination of GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL delivered dramatic year-to-year growth on The CW's Monday, improving 150% in women 18-34 (3.5/9), 130% in adults 18-34 (2.3/6), 85% in women 18-49 (2.4/6), 50% in adults 18-49 (1.5/4) and 40% in viewers (3.2mil).

Wednesday, Sept. 24

On a night of premiere week debuts, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL remained fierce, beating all competition in the network's target demographic of women 18-34 (3.7/11) and ranked second in adults 18-34 (2.5/8) and women 12-34 (3.2/10). Overall, The CW was the Wednesday's #1 network with women 18-34 (2.8/8).

Despite running head-to-head with "Dancing with the Stars," TOP MODEL matched last week's cycle-high ratings in adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, and was the second strongest telecast of the cycle in women 18-34, retaining 97% of last week's cycle high in this demo.
