WEEK No. 11:

During the week of November 30, 2009, ABC finished a strong No. 2 in Total Viewers (7.9 million) and across all Key Women demos (W18-34 2.4/7, W18-49 2.8/8 and W25-54 3.3/8), while standing as the No. 1 broadcaster with Kids 2-11 (1.2/5).

Rankings: ABC aired 3 of the week's Top 10 TV programs among Adults 18-49, including the No. 1 scripted show with the fall finale of "Desperate Housewives": "Desperate Housewives" No. 4, "Big 12 Championship" No. 7 and "Brothers & Sisters" No. 10. Achieving a season high with its most-watched telecast in 1 year (since 12/7/08), ABC's "Housewives" was also the week's most-watched scripted television show overall.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 33% currently, from 28% at the same point in 2008. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

Monday

"Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

ABC's rebroadcast of the animated holiday classic "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" finished a strong No. 2 in its half-hour to Fox's original "House" in viewers and young adults, beating NBC's original "Heroes" by 3.5 million viewers (9.2 million vs. 5.7 million) and by 22% in Adults 18-49 (2.8/7 vs. 2.3/6).
