"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

Airing against the Winter Olympics, ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" was up over its performance the prior week by 1.4 million viewers (7.6 million vs. 6.2 million) and by 24% in Adults 18-49 (2.1/6 vs. 1.7/5). The veteran video-clip show ranked as the No. 1 non-sports program during the 7 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49, beating runner-up CBS' "60 Minutes" by 17% (2.1/6 vs. 1.8/5).

"AFV" stood as the No. 1 broadcast program in the hour among Kids 2-11 (2.6/9), hitting the show's highest Kids 2-11 rating in over 3 years since 1/28/07.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" grew from its previous week's telecast by 2.0 million viewers (8.0 million vs. 6.0 million) and by 32% in Adults 18-49 (2.5/6 vs. 1.9/5), registering the Net's best young adult performance in the hour in 6 weeks since 1/10/10.

"Desperate Housewives" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Against increased competition in the 9 o'clock hour, including NBC's Winter Olympics and CBS' "Undercover Boss," ABC's "Desperate Housewives" retained 100% of its Adults 18-49 (3.7/8) delivery from its most recent telecast (1/31/10), while seeing gains among Adults 25-54 (4.5/9 vs. 4.3/9).

"Brothers & Sisters" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Standing as the No. 1 scripted program in the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" outdelivered CBS' "Cold Case" across each of the key Adults demographics: Adults 18-34 (1.8/5 vs. 1.6/5), Adults 18-49 (2.5/7 vs. 2.3/6) and Adults 25-54 (3.3/8 vs. 3.0/7).

"Brothers and Sisters" grew from its most recent telecast (1/31/10) in both Total Viewers (7.9 million vs. 7.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.5/7 vs. 2.4/6).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 36% currently, from 30% at the same point in 2009. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
