CMT Mobile Breaks Record with Melissa Peterman Chat

NASHVILLE - March 17, 2010 - CMT's BIG NEW COMEDY WEEK, which included original comedy premieres each night of the week, became CMT's highest-rated week of the quarter as two new BLUE COLLAR COMEDY specials delivered big weekend numbers for the network.

According to Nielsen Media Research, TRUE BLUE: TEN YEARS OF BLUE COLLAR COMEDY averaged 1.2 million impressions (P2+) during its Saturday, March 13 premiere, with 531,000 falling in the network's key P18-49 demo. The show became the highest-rated program since the day of the 2009 CMT MUSIC AWARDS. Immediately following, the premiere of BLUE COLLAR COMEDY: TEN YEARS OF FUNNY on March 13 averaged 1.3 million impressions (P2+), with 446,000 in the P18-49 demo.

The two specials anchored CMT's BIG NEW COMEDY WEEK and were dedicated to the 10-year anniversary of BLUE COLLAR COMEDY featuring comics Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. TRUE BLUE: TEN YEARS OF BLUE COLLAR COMEDY took an in-depth look at the Blue Collar juggernaut, and BLUE COLLAR COMEDY: TEN YEARS OF FUNNY, was a hilarious reunion special featuring Jeff Foxworthy, Larry The Cable Guy and Bill Engvall, live onstage together.

The week also featured THE SINGING BEE host Melissa Peterman in her stand-up debut, MELISSA PETERMAN: AM I THE ONLY ONE; the CMT premieres of the BLUE COLLAR COMEDY TOUR, BLUE COLLAR COMEDY TOUR RIDES AGAIN, and stand-up specials from Ron White, Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan.

In support of CMT BIG NEW COMEDY WEEK, CMT Mobile initiated a live chat with Melissa Peterman and which became the most successful CMT Mobile chat to date with a 400% increase over average 2010 daily page views.
