'DATELINE NBC' REPORTS ITS TOP FRIDAY RESULTS IN SIX WEEKS IN 18-49 AND IN 11 WEEKS IN TOTAL VIEWERS
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - September 8, 2010 - Paced by the week's #1 primetime telecast on the major networks, the Tuesday edition of "America's Got Talent," NBC tied for #2 for the week in adult 18-49 rating and was #2 outright in total viewers, averaging a 1.3 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall for the week of August 30-September 5, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.
For the week, NBC also ranked #2 among the major networks in adults 25-54 (tie) and was tied for #1 in women 18-49.
The Tuesday telecast of "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 for the week in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54 and other key categories. Wednesday's "Talent" was #5 in adults 18-49 and #2 in total viewers. An edition of "America's Got Talent" has now been the #1 non-sports telecast in total viewers for 12 out of the last 14 weeks. The Tuesday and Wednesday telecasts of "Minute To Win It" also ranked in the top 20 for the week, with Wednesday's episode tying for #11 in adults 18-49 and Tuesday's edition tying for #16.
Primetime averages for the week of August 30-September 5 in adults 18-49 were ABC (1.4/5), CBS (1.3/4), Fox (1.3/4), NBC (1.3/4) and CW (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (5.7 million), NBC (5.2 million), ABC (4.7 million), Fox (3.6 million) and CW (1.0 million).

* On Monday, an "America's Got Talent" encore generated the show's biggest overall audience of the summer to date for a Monday rebroadcast.
* On Tuesday, "America's Got Talent" was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers, with the show's biggest overall audience for a Tuesday edition in seven weeks.
* For its concluding hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" beat the combined ABC-CBS competition in all key ratings categories - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, as well as total viewers.
* Also on Tuesday, "Minute To Win It" ranked #2 in its slot among the major networks in 18-49, total viewers and nearly all other key demographics.

* On Friday, "Dateline" reported its highest 18-49 rating for a Friday edition in six weeks (since July 23) and its biggest overall audience in 11 weeks (since June 18). "Dateline" tied for #1 in its time period in adults 18-49.
* Also on Friday, "Who Do You Think You Are" tracked down its highest numbers of the summer to date in 18-49 and total viewers.
* On Saturday, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" captured its highest 18-49 and total-viewers results for a Saturday telecast since July 24.
* On Sunday, "Dateline NBC" finished the 7 p.m. ET hour within 0.2 of a rating point of first place among the major networks in adults 18-49 and within 0.1 of a point of first in adults 25-54.

"America's Got Talent" hit a new summer high in total viewers for a Monday encore with 5.141 million persons, topping its prior Monday best of 5.092 million on July 12. This was the seventh "Talent" Monday rebroadcast of the summer to date.
Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" delivered a 1.3/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall, generated "Dateline's" biggest overall Monday audience since July 26. In the time period, "Dateline" ranked #2 among the major networks in total viewers and adults, men and women 25-54.
On Tuesday, August 31 from 8-8:21 p.m. ET, NBC ran coverage of the Presidential Address as sustaining programming, which is not included in nightlong or weekly ratings averages.
From 8:21-9 p.m. ET, "Minute To Win It" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among the major networks in nearly all key demographics -- adults 18-34, adults 18-49, adults 25-54, all key adult-male demos, women 18-49 and women 25-54.
Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (3.0/9 in 18-49, 11.5 million viewers overall) was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. "Talent" dominated the time period in all key ratings categories. "America's Got Talent" delivered its biggest overall viewership for a Tuesday telecast in seven weeks (since July 13).
For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" was a dominant #1 among the major networks in every key ratings category, topping the combined ABC-CBS result in adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, as well as total viewers for that 10-11 p.m. hour.
NBC was #1 for the night in 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories. NBC's average of 10.1 million viewers overall for primetime is its top Tuesday average since June 1.

Despite several preemptions for local coverage of NFL preseason football, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" captured its highest adult 18-49 rating in this time period in six weeks (since July 22) and matched its highest Thursday rating so far this summer. Week to week, "SVU" was up 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.2 from a 1.0).
On Friday, September 3 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Who Do You Think You Are" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) dug up the show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results of the summer to date, up week-to-week by 33 percent in 18-49 rating (0.8 vs. 0.6) and 3 percent in total viewers (3.1 million vs. 3.0 million). In the time period, the "Who Do You Think You Are" encore was #2 among the major networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 (tie) and other key categories.
Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" delivered a 1.2/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall. "Dateline" reported its highest 18-49 rating for a Friday edition in six weeks (since July 23) and its biggest overall audience in 11 weeks (since June 18). "Dateline" was up week to week by 33 percent in 18-49 rating (1.2 vs. 0.9) and 20 percent in total viewers (5.3 million vs. 4.4 million). "Dateline" tied for #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in adults 25-54. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" increased its 18-49 rating by 56 percent (to a 1.4 from a 0.9) and its overall viewership by 46 percent or 1.9 million viewers overall (to 6.1 million from 4.2 million).
For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "Dateline" ranked #1 among the major networks in most key categories, including adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers.
On Saturday, September 4 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" averaged a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers overall.
Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, a second rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall) built on the prior hour's results by 40 percent in 18-49 rating and 13 percent in total viewers.
Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, another encore "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) captured the show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results for a Saturday telecast since July 24. In the time period, "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" ranked #2 among the major networks in nearly all key demographics and was #1 among women 18-49 and women 25-54. "CI" built on the prior hour's results by 29 percent in 18-49 rating and 17 percent in total viewers.
The three "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" encores increased their 18-49 rating and overall viewership with each successive half-hour throughout primetime.
On Sunday September 5, from 7-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline" increased its 18-49 rating by 14 percent (to a 0.8 from a 0.7) and its adult 25-54 rating by 20 percent (1.2 vs. 1.0).
