'CHASE' TRACKS DOWN WEEK-TO-WEEK GAINS OF 17 PERCENT IN BOTH ADULTS 18-49 AND TOTAL VIEWERS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 30, 2010 - Led by "Sunday Night Football," NBC averaged a 2.1 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall for the week of November 22-28, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. For the week, NBC tied for #3 in adults 18-49 and ranked #2 in adults 18-34 and in all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.

NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the San Diego Chargers 36-14 blowout of the Indianapolis Colts ranked #1 among all primetime programs this week in adults 18-49, marking the 12th straight week in which "NBC Sunday Night Football" has topped the weekly rankings in primetime's key demographic. "Sunday Night Football" also ranked #1 among all primetime programs for the week in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 (rankings exclude all football pre-game and post-game telecasts and overruns).

Primetime averages for the week of November 22-28 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.6/8), ABC (2.3/7), NBC and CBS (2.1/6) and CW (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (9.6 million), ABC (8.9 million), Fox (7.1 million), NBC (6.4 million) and CW (1.2 million).

The 28-night Nielsen November sweep concluded on Wednesday, November 24 (for the measurement period October 28-November 24, 2010). Three-tenths of a rating point separated the top four broadcast networks in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49 during the November sweep. The November 2010 sweep averages in adults 18-49 were: CBS and Fox (2.7), ABC (2.6), NBC (2.4) and CW (0.9). In adults 18-34, November 2010 sweep averages were: Fox (2.4), NBC and ABC (2.0), CBS (1.8) and CW (1.0). In total viewers, the 28-night November sweep averages were CBS (11.1 million), ABC (9.7 million), Fox (7.8 million), NBC (7.2 million) and CW (2.1 million).

Season-to-date through 10 weeks, NBC is tied for #3 in adults 18-49, up 4 percent in 18-49 rating versus the first 10 weeks of last season (2.8 vs. 2.7). NBC is also tied for #3 season-to-date in adults 25-54, up 3 percent in 25-54 rating versus the first 10 weeks last year (3.2 vs. 3.1). NBC is up 2 percent year-to-year in total viewers through the first 10 weeks of the season (7.970 million vs. 7.790 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 22-28

* NBC Sports' "Sunday Night Football" telecast of the San Diego Chargers at the Indianapolis Colts fueled a Sunday primetime win in virtually all key measures: adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 - as well as women 18-49, women 25-54 and total viewers.

* NBC's margin of victory over the #2 network in primetime Sunday night was 26 percent in 18-49 rating and 29 percent in total viewers

* On Friday, NBC's telecast of the feature film "Enchanted," starring Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams, grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 63 percent in adults 18-49 to rank #1 in its final hour from 10-11 p.m. ET among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and other key demographics.

* On Thursday, the special "Taylor Swift - Speak Now" exhibited impressive growth in key demographics from its first half-hour to its second, gaining 30 percent in adults 18-49, 67 percent in adults 18-34 and 80 percent in women 18-34.

* Also on Thursday, the NBC News special "NBC's People of the Year" increased from its first half-hour to its second by 10 percent in adults 18-49 and 29 percent in adults 18-34.

* On Wednesday, the two-hour special "The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?" ranked #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in its final hour from 10-11 p.m. ET in adults, men and women 18-34 and women 18-49. For its final half-hour, the special ranked #1 or tied for #1 in adults, men and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34.

* On Tuesday, "Parenthood" grew week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating despite special competition in the hour this week from ABC's finale of "Dancing With the Stars."

* The "Parenthood" results are likely to increase substantially when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results for the week. So far this season, "Parenthood" has added an average 43 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" ratings to its "live plus seven day" results. On a percentage basis, "Parenthood" is the #1 biggest gainer, tied with Fox's "Fringe," in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven" among all primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW

* Also on Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" gained 24 percent in adults 18-49 from its first half-hour to its fourth in a time period that included formidable competition from ABC's "No Ordinary Family" and the "Dancing With the Stars" finale, Fox's "Glee" and CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles."

* On Monday, "Chase" tracked down gains of 17 percent week to week in both adults 18-49 and total viewers, to deliver its highest 18-49 rating since October 18 and its biggest overall viewership since October 4. So far this season, "Chase" has added an average 28 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure.

* On Monday so far this season, "The Event" has added an average 36 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure, making "The Event" the #1 percentage gainer among all new shows and the #3 series overall by this measure. In total viewers, "The Event" has added an average 29 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

On Monday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. ET, "Chuck" averaged a 1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall. It's worth noting that through the season's first eight weeks, "Chuck" has added an average 25 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure

Monday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "The Event" averaged a 1.7/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall. Through the season's first eight weeks, "The Event" has added an average 36 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. This is the #1 percentage increase among all new shows and "The Event" is the #3 series overall by this measure. In total viewers, "The Event" has added an average 29 percent or more than 2.1 million persons in going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day."

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Chase" (1.4/4 in adults 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) grew by 17 percent week to week in 18-49 rating (1.4 vs. 1.2) and in total viewers (5.343 million vs. 4.565 million). "Chase" delivered its highest 18-49 rating since October 18 and its biggest overall viewership since October 4. Through the season's first eight weeks, "Chase" has added an average 28 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure.

On Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 10" averaged a 2.3/7 in adults 18-49 and 6.8 million viewers overall in a time period that included competition from ABC's "No Ordinary Family" and the "Dancing With the Stars" finale, Fox's "Glee" and CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles." "Biggest Loser" gained 24 percent in adults 18-49 from its first half-hour to its fourth (to a 2.6/7 from a 2.1/6).

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (1.9/5 in adults 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall.) was up week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating despite atypical competition in the hour from ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" finale.

These "Parenthood" results are likely to increase substantially when Nielsen issues "live plus seven day" results for the week of November 22-28. Through the season's first eight weeks, "Parenthood" has added an average 43 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" ratings to its "live plus seven day" results. On Wednesday, Nov. 24 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the holiday special "Merry Madagascar" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time slot since September 22. In the time period, "Merry Madagascar" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in kids 2-11 with a 3.4 rating.

Wednesday, at 8:30 p.m. ET, "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in from "Merry Madagascar" by 7 percent in 18-49 rating, 38 percent in adults 18-34 (with a 1.1 rating vs. a 0.8) and 24 percent in kids 2-11 (4.2 vs. 3.4). "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in kids 2-11.

Wednesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers overall. In its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?" ranked #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults, men and women 18-34 and women 18-49. In its final half-hour from 10:30-11 p.m., the special ranked #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults, men and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34.

On Thursday, Nov. 25 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the special "Taylor Swift - Speak Now" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Taylor Swift - Speak Now" grew by 30 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.3 from a 1.0), by 67 percent in adults 18-34 (1.0 vs. 0.6) and by 80 percent in women 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.5).

Thursday from 9-10 p.m. ET, the NBC News special "NBC's People of the Year" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "NBC's People of the Year" increased by 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 1.0) and by 29 percent in adults 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.7).

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, "The Apprentice" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall. Through the season's first eight weeks, "The Apprentice" has added an average 27 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from the previously reported "live plus same day" rating to its "live plus seven day" figure. On a percentage basis, "The Apprentice" is tied for the #1 biggest increase among unscripted shows on ABC, CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox or CW in adults 18-49.

On Friday, Nov. 26 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "School Pride" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, the NBC Movie of the Week telecast of the 2007 feature film "Enchanted," starring Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams, averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Enchanted" grew by 63 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.3 from a 0.8) and 40 percent or more than 1.1 million persons in total viewers (3.9 million vs. 2.8 million).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "Enchanted" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and other key demographics.

On Saturday, Nov. 27 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, the encore holiday special "Merry Madagascar" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49. "Merry Madagascar" matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period in four weeks and equaled the network's second-highest 18-49 rating in the half-hour this season. In the time slot, "Merry Madagascar" was a dominant #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in kids 2-11 with a 1.8 rating.

Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and was the #1 non-sports choice in the time period in 18-49, behind only ABC's college football telecast. "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" unwrapped NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the half-hour in four weeks and second-highest rating in the slot this season. In the time period, "Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special" was a dominant #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in kids 2-11 with a 2.2 rating

Saturday from 9-11 p.m. ET, the NBC Movie of the Week telecast of the 2007 animated feature film "Bee Movie" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall) buzzed to NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time slot since June 5. In the time period, "Bee Movie" tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and was #2 or tied for #2 in other key categories. "Bee Movie" was a dominant #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in kids 2-11 with a 2.3 rating.

On Sunday Nov. 28, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the San Diego Chargers at the Indianapolis Colts propelled NBC to a primetime win in virtually all key demographic measures, with NBC ranking #1 Sunday night in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and all key adult-male demos - men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. NBC also finished #1 in primetime for the night among women 18-49 and women 25-54. For its full duration, the Chargers-Colts NFL game averaged a 7.1/17 in adults 18-49, 19.1 million viewers overall and an 11.4/18 household rating/share from 8:31-11:02 p.m. ET.

NBC's margin of victory over the #2 network in primetime Sunday night was 26 percent in 18-49 rating (a 5.9 vs. a 4.7 for Fox, which was boosted by an NFL overrun) and 29 percent in total viewers (16.2 million vs. 12.5 million for CBS).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:58 p.m. ET averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall and a 3.2/5 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:58-8:22 p.m. delivered a 3.7/10 in 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall and a 6.6/11 in households. From 8:22-8:31 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 4.8/12 in 18-49, 14.4 million viewers overall and an 8.7/14 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
