Nickelodeon Finishes Week as Top Net with Kids, Total Viewers

iCarly Ranks as Basic Cable's Top Scripted Series Telecast; SpongeBob SquarePants is Top Animated Program on all TV

NEW YORK-March 22, 2011-Nickelodeon notched another weekly ratings win (3/14/11-3/20/11) as basic cable's number-one network with total viewers (2.2 million) and kids 2-11 (3.4/1.2 million) in total day. The net's win was fueled by performances from a brand-new episode of iCarly iPity the Nevel (Saturday, March 19, 8 p.m. ET/PT), which ranks as basic cable's top scripted series telecast for the week with total viewers (4.6 million); and SpongeBob SquarePants, which owned eight of the top 10 telecasts with kids 2-11 for the week.

"iPity the Nevel" was also Saturday night's number-one primetime telecast with kids and tweens on all TV and was the number-one entertainment telecast on basic cable with total viewers (4.6 million), averaging a 7.3/1.6 million K6-11 (+11%), 7.1/1.5 million T9-14 (+42%) and 6.2/2.2 million K2-11 (+19%). The half-hour episode also bested its nearest competitor by double-digits with kids 6-11 (+66%), tweens 9-14 (+115%) and kids 2-11 (+72%). iPity the Nevel follows the iCarly gang as they try to restore Nevel's reputation after a video of him yelling at a little girl surfaces on the internet and everyone turns against him.

Nick's weekly ratings performance also was highlighted by the premiere of Dora's Ballet Adventure (Monday, March 14, 7 p.m. ET/PT), which ranks as the week's top telecast with kids 2-5 (1.1 million) and averaged 3.1 million total viewers. The half-hour premiere, posted solid triple and double-digit increases over year ago with kids 2-5 (+216%) and total viewers (+37%), and outperformed its nearest competitor by double-digits with key demos. For the week Nickelodeon was home to the top four preschool telecasts (#1 Dora the Explorer, #2 Bubble Guppies, #3 Team Umizoomi, #4 Max & Ruby).

Nickelodeon, now in its 31st year, is the number-one entertainment brand for kids. It has built a diverse, global business by putting kids first in everything it does. The company includes television programming and production in the United States and around the world, plus consumer products, online, recreation, books and feature films.
