"The Late Late Show" Finishes Ahead of "Late Night" in Adults 18-49 in a November Sweep for the First Time (With Any Host for Either Program)
CBS had a historic late night November sweep with LATE SHOW beating "The Tonight Show" in adults 18-49 for the first time since 1994 and THE LATE LATE SHOW topping "Late Night" in adults 18-49 for the first time ever (with any host for either program), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the period of Oct. 27-Nov. 23.
In the November sweep, LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN (2.4/06, 3.41m) beat "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (2.5/06, 3.60m) in adults 25-54 (1.2/05 vs. 1.1/04, +9%), adults 18-49 (0.9/04 vs. 0.8/03, +13%) and tied in adults 18-34 (0.5/02, each). LATE SHOW beat "The Tonight Show" for the first time in a November sweep since 1994 and finished in its best competitive position in a November sweep in adults 18-34 since 1995.
Meanwhile, THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON (1.2/04, 1.63m) beat "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/04, 1.73m) in adults 18-49 (0.6/03 vs. 0.5/03, +20%), tied in adults 25-54 (0.7/04, each). LATE LATE SHOW beat "Late Night" for the first time ever in a November sweep (with any host for either program) in adults 18-49, and tied for the second consecutive November sweep in adults 25-54.
