ABC's Monday is Up for the 3rd Straight Week in Adults 18-49
Some early info on ABC's Monday, ahead of the regular press release.
With The Bachelorette and the debut of The Glass House, ABC finished as the 2nd-most-watched network overall to NBC (America's Got Talent/American Ninja Warrior), while topping Fox's unscripted originals by 9% (Hell's Kitchen/MasterChef). The Net ranked #1 on the night across all key Women demographics (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
· Building its Adult 18-49 audience for the 3rd week in a row, ABC marked its top-rated summertime Monday (Memorial Day- Labor Day) since early-August - since 8/8/11.
At 8pm, ABC's The Bachelorette took second in its 2-hour time with Total Viewers and moved up to #1 with Adults 18-34 for the first time this season. In addition, for the 5th week running, the ABC unscripted series won its time period across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). In addition, The Bachelorette registered as Monday's #1 TV series for the 5th consecutive week among its core Women 18-34 audience.
· Despite facing increased competition in the time period this week from NBC, The Bachelorette retained 100% of its Adult 18-49 audience week to week. In fact on each of the last 2 weeks, the show has delivered ABC's top summertime young adult numbers in the time slot since the beginning of last August - since 8/1/11.
During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's debut of The Glass House ranked #2 in the slot with Adults 18-49 and #1 with Women 18-49.
· The Glass House boosted its time period week to week by 60% in Adults 18-49, hitting a summer-high for ABC in the hour.

With "The Bachelorette" and the debut of "The Glass House," ABC (6.0 million) finished as the 2nd-most-watched network overall to NBC ("America's Got Talent"/"American Ninja Warrior"), while topping Fox's unscripted originals by 9% (5.5 million - "Hell's Kitchen"/"MasterChef"). The Net ranked No. 1 on the night across all key Women demographics (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
· Building its Adult 18-49 audience (2.3/7) for the 3rd week in a row, ABC marked its top-rated summertime Monday (Memorial Day- Labor Day) since the beginning of last August - since 8/8/11.

At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "The Bachelorette" took second in its 2-hour time with Total Viewers (6.9 million) and moved up to No. 1 with Adults 18-34 (1.9/7) for the first time this season. In addition, for the 5th week running, the ABC unscripted series won its time period across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). Further, The Bachelorette registered as Monday's No. 1 TV series for the 5th consecutive week among its core Women 18-34 audience (3.0/9).
· Despite facing increased competition in the time period this week from NBC, "The Bachelorette" retained 100% of its Adult 18-49 audience (2.3/7) week to week. In fact, on each of the last 2 weeks, the show has delivered ABC's top summertime young adult numbers in the time slot since the beginning of last August - since 8/1/11.
"The Glass House" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's debut of "The Glass House" ranked No. 2 in the slot with Adults 18-49 (1.6/4-tie) and No. 1 with Women 18-49 (2.1/6).
· ABC's "The Glass House" boosted its time period week to week by 60% in Adults 18-49 (1.6/4 vs. 1.0/3), hitting a summer-high for the Network in the hour.
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 44% currently, from 41% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
