UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 14, 2013 - NBC has matched its highest weeklong 18-49 rating in 17 weeks, since January 7-13, and delivered its biggest total-viewer result since that same week, finishing the May 6-12 period with a 1.8 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" viewing data from Nielsen Media Research.

The Monday and Tuesday editions of NBC's "The Voice" ranked #2 and #3 for the week in adults 18-49 among primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, and the Monday "Voice" finished the week #1 on those networks in women 18-34, women 18-49, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11.

NBC's 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 pulled the network within 0.2 of a rating point of the weeklong win (2.0 for CBS). It's the fourth week in a row NBC has finished within 0.1-0.3 of a point of first place in 18-49.

Versus the same week last year, NBC was up 6 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.7), while ABC, CBS and Fox were each down by double-digit percentages. In total viewers, NBC was up 2 percent versus the same week last year (5.7 million vs. 5.6 million), while ABC, CBS and Fox were each down.

Primetime averages for the week of May 6-12 in adults 18-49 are: CBS, 2.0/6; ABC, 1.9/6; NBC, 1.8/6; Fox, 1.7/5; and CW, 0.5/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 9.4 million; ABC, 7.2 million; NBC, 5.7 million; Fox, 5.4 million; and CW, 1.3 million.

Season to date averages through eight weeks are: CBS, 2.9/8; Fox, 2.5/7; NBC, 2.4/7; ABC, 2.2/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 11.9 million; ABC, 7.8 million; Fox, 7.1 million; NBC, 7.0 million; and CW, 1.8 million.

NBC highlights for the week of May 6-12

Monday: NBC finished #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key demographic, with a 55 percent margin over #2 CBS in adults 18-49 (with a 3.4 rating vs. a 2.2)

"The Voice" (4.1 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49, 12.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) was the #1 show of the night by a 52 percent margin in 18-49 (4.1 vs. 2.7 for CBS's "2 Broke Girls"). "The Voice" won its time period in every key demographic among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox and led the slot in 18-49 by a margin of 71 percent versus CBS's original comedies (4.1 vs. 2.4). Versus the same night last year, "The Voice" was up 8 percent in 18-49 rating (4.1 vs. 3.8 on May 7, 2012) and 13 percent in total viewers (12.1 million vs. 10.7 million).

"Revolution" (2.0/5 in adults 18-49, 6 1 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49. "Revolution" was up week to week by 11 percent in both 18-49 rating (to a 2.0 from a 1.8) and total viewers (6.1 million vs. 5.5 million).

Tuesday: NBC ranked #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key demographic, winning six of six half-hours among those networks in adults 18-49 and topping the night's #2 network, CBS, by a 41 percent margin (3.1 vs. 2.2).

"The Voice" (3.7/11 in 18-49, 11.4 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) delivered the #1 18-49 rating of the night by a 19 percent margin versus the #2 show, CBS's "NCIS" (3.1 from 8-9 p.m.).

"Grimm" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million in total viewers from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in 18-49 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the time period, leading the hour by a 29 percent margin over ABC's "Body of Proof" (1.4) and by 50 percent over CBS's "Golden Boy" (1.2). "Grimm" retained 95 percent of the prior week's Tuesday premiere in 18-49 rating and 98 percent in total viewers (5.7 million vs.5.8 million).

Wednesday: A special Wednesday telecast of "The Voice" Results Show (2.8/9 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) won the hour over Fox's "American Idol" (2.6/8 from 8-9) and CBS's "Survivor" (2.6/8) in adults 18-49 and other key demos. The Wednesday "Voice" earned NBC's top rating in the time period since November 7, 2012 and biggest overall audience in the slot since November 28, 2012.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.9/5 in adults 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall at 9:01-10 p.m. ET) jumped week to week by 27 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.9 from a 1.5) and 19 percent or 1.1 million persons in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 5.8 million). The 1.9 matches "SVU's" highest 18-49 rating since January 9.

"Chicago Fire" (1.8/5 in adults 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall at 10 p.m. ET) grew week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.7) and 8 percent in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 6.4 million), to deliver the show's highest 18-49 rating since February 27 and its biggest overall audience since January 30.

Thursday: With its season finale, "Community" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall at 8 p.m. ET) delivered week-to-week gains for a second week in a row in 18-49 and total viewers, to match the show's highest 18-49 rating in nine weeks (since March 7) in a highly competitive time period versus CBS's "Big Bang Theory," Fox's "American Idol" and ABC's "Wipeout" season premiere.

From 9-10:01 p.m. ET, "The Office" (2.3/7 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) jumped 28 percent week to week in 18-49 rating (to a 2.3 from a 1.8 on May 2 from 8:30-9:31) and grew by 30 percent in total viewers (4.6 million vs. 3.5 million), making this the season's #2 "Office" in both categories behind only a November 8, 2012 telecast that followed a special Thursday edition of "The Voice."

At 10:01 p.m. ET, "Hannibal" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall) matched its top 18-49 rating since April 18. In total viewers, "Hannibal" delivered a three-week high, up versus the prior week by 1 percent (2.622 million vs. 2.608 million) and up versus two weeks earlier by 9 percent (2.6 million vs. 2.4 million).

Friday: "Rock Center with Brian Williams" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) matched its second-highest adult 18-49 rating in three months (since February 8), trailing over that span only the April 19 series-record rating with coverage of the capture of the Boston bombing suspect.

Sunday: "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) built on NBC's rating in the prior 8-9 p.m. hour by 44 percent in adults 18-49 (with a 1.3 rating vs. a 0.9 from 8-9) and by 22 percent in total viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.5 million).
