Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "America's Got Talent" Goes Untouched for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

NBC (7.642 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with a rebroadcast of "Hollywood Game Night" (3.602 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and a new "America's Got Talent" (9.662 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1).

FOX (4.142 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then was a distant second place with a new "So You Think You Can Dance" (4.142 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2).

Next up was CBS (6.224 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and its second run lineup of "NCIS" (7.572 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.065 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and "Person of Interest" (5.034 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.329 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) offered up a new "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.568 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) plus a repeat of "Body of Proof" (2.850 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10).

And finally, originals from "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (2.369 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (2.449 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and the premiere of "Capture" (0.977 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #11) on The CW (1.693 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) rounded out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Line" delivered a 0.7 and a 0.7 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Capture" a 0.3 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.7/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.1/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (7/31/12):

NBC (37.49 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 12.2, #1) climbed to a post-Opening Ceremony high on Tuesday with its coverage of the "2012 Summer Olympics" (37.49 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 12.2, #1).

A distant silver then went to CBS (5.44 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) with repeats of "NCIS" (6.78 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (5.19 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and "Person of Interest" (4.35 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5).

Next up was FOX (2.25 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with rebroadcasts of "MasterChef" (2.33 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and a second "MasterChef" (2.17 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.56 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up repeats of "The Middle" (2.83 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Last Man Standing" (2.21 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10), "Wipeout" (2.37 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7) and a new "NY Med" (2.80 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9).

And finally, a repeat of "Hart of Dixie" (0.78 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) and a new "The L.A. Complex" (0.55 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T11) on The CW (0.67 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Dixie" delivered a 0.3 rating while "Complex" posted a 0.2 rating.
