Adult Swim Again Ranks #1 Among Basic Cable Networks for Primetime Delivery of Adults 18-34

Following its summer 2013 win among young adults in Primetime, Adult Swim again ranked #1 among basic cable networks for Primetime (Broadcast definition) delivery of adults 18-34. Compared to the same week in 2012, Primetime delivery increased by strong double digits across all adult and male demos - adults 18-24 by 28%, adults 18-34 by 31%, adults 18-49 by 21%, men 18-24 by 35%, men 18-34 by 35% and men 18-49 by 26%.

Across the first week of September 2013, Adult Swim's Total Day delivery average ranked #1 among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24 & 18-34 on basic cable. Compared to the same week in 2012, Total Day delivery increased by double-digit growth across all adult and male demos - adults 18-24 by 36%, adults 18-34 by 31%, adults 18-49 by 26%, men 18-24 by 41%, men 18-34 by 28% and men 18-49 by 25%.

Thursday night's new episode of Adult Swim original live-action series, Childrens Hospital (12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 and men 18-24, while increasing by mostly double digits (between 8% - 72%) among all targeted adults 18-34, 18-24 & 18-49 and men 18-24 & 18-34 vs. the same time period last year. Additionally, the premiere episode of NTSF:SD:SUV:: (12:15 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-24, and increased by mostly double digits (between 8% - 93%) with all targeted adults and men 18-24.

Both the Monday (10 p.m.) and Sunday (10 p.m.) new episode premieres of the animated series, Bob's Burgers increased delivery by double-digit gains across adults and men - ranging between 23% and 100% - vs. the same time period last year.

Adult Swim programming accounted for 21 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week among adults 18-34, and 27 of the top 50 telecasts among men 18-34, both more than any other network.

TNT

TNT's blockbuster hit Rizzoli & Isles ranked as basic cable's #1 scripted program for the week. The episode has drawn 8 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, a +3% increase over the prior week. In the demos, it has delivered 2.7 million adults 25-54 in Live + 3 (+4% vs. the prior week) and 2.3 million adults 18-49 (+8% vs. the prior week).

Tuesday's summer finale of TNT's hit drama Perception was one of basic cable's Top 5 scripted programs last week. The episode has attracted 5.2 million in Live + 3 delivery, a +3% increase vs. the prior week. Among key demos, the summer finale has drawn 1.8 million adults 25-54 and 1.4 million adults 18-49. Perception is slated to return to close out its second season in early 2014.

In time-shifted viewing, TNT's Aug. 12 episode of Major Crimes drew a final Live + 7 delivery of more than 7.4 million viewers and 2.2 million adults 25-54. The Aug. 13 episode of Rizzoli & Isles topped out with 8.0 million viewers and 2.8 million adults 25-54 in Live + 7. And the Aug. 13 episode of Perception garnered 5.2 million viewers in Live + 7, including 2.0 million adults 25-54.

TBS

TBS opened September as basic cable's #1 entertainment network in primetime delivery of adults 18-49 last week. TBS's success was driven in part by the continued strength of The Big Bang Theory, which accounted for 19 of basic cable's Top 20 sitcom telecasts in the demo.

Cartoon Network

Across the first week of September 2013, Cartoon Network ranked as television's #1 network for Early Prime (7-9 p.m.) delivery of targeted boys 6-11 & 9-14.

Cartoon Network also scored as the #1 television network among kids 2-11 and all boy demos on Saturday and Sunday Night (7-9p), #1 among boys 2-11 & 6-11 on Monday and Tuesday Night, and #1 with boys 6-11 & 9-14 on Wednesday Night.

The new episode premiere of Teen Titans GO! (Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, while The Looney Tunes Show episode premiere (8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among boys 2-11 & 6-11.

The Amazing World of Gumball episode premiere (Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.) ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 6-11 & 9-14, #1 in its time period with all boy demos, and earned mostly double-digit increases across targeted kids and boys - ranging between 8% and 38% - vs. the same time period last year. Similarly, Legends of Chima (8 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period with all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14.

Saturday morning charted delivery increases among all kids and boy demos vs. the prior year, with premiere episodes of Tenkai Knights (7:30 a.m.), Beyblade: Shogun Steel (8 a.m.) and Pokémon BW: Adventures in Unova (8:30 a.m.) ranking #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14, and increasing delivery by double digits with targeted kids and boys vs. the same time last year.

The network premiere of the hit theatrical movie The Smurfs (Saturday 7 p.m.) landed the #1 telecast of the day among boys 9-14, #1 in its time period with all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and increased average delivery by double digits across all kids and boy demos vs. last year and the prior four weeks.

truTV

truTV's hit series Hardcore Pawn (Tuesday at 9 p.m.) ranked as basic cable's #1 new unscripted episode in its timeslot among men 18-34, scoring exceptional growth across the board compared to the prior week's episode. The show garnered a total of 2.3 million viewers, a +24% increase over the previous week, with 929,000 adults 18-49 (+19%) and 524,000 men 18-49 (+14%). Hardcore Pawn helped propel truTV to a Top 10 basic cable ranking for the night among key male demos.

truTV's popular Lizard Lick Towing (Monday at 9 p.m.) brought in more than 2 million viewers, including 925,000 adults 18-49 and 552,000 men 18-49, ranking as one of basic cable's Top 5 programs in the timeslot with key male demos. It also sparked truTV to a Top 10 basic cable ranking for the night with men 18-49.

truTV's hilarious prank series Impractical Jokers (Thursday at 10 p.m.) captured more than 1.3 million viewers last week, including 755,000 adults 18-49 and 387,000 men 18-49. The show ranked as one of basic cable's Top 5 entertainment programs in its timeslot with adults 18-34 and adults 18-49, as well as men 18-49.
