Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC Delivers the Week's Top 5 Biggest Broadcast Drama Gainers in TV Playback in AD18-49

Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 3/10/14 (Week #25):

ABC claimed 6 of the week's 10 biggest broadcast gainers in TV playback among Adults 18-49 (the most for any network), including the Top 5 biggest drama gainers: Grey's Anatomy (+1.9 rating points) and Modern Family (+1.9 rating points) tied at #2, Scandal (+1.7 rating points) - #4, Resurrection (+1.5 rating points) - #5, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.4 rating points) - #6 and Once Upon a Time (+1.3 rating points) - #7.

The second episode of ABC's Resurrection saw substantially bigger percentage increases in TV Playback than the prior week's debut episode. From the Live + Same Day to the Live + 7 Day numbers, Resurrection's Total Viewer count grew by 38% in Total Viewers (vs. 29% for the premiere) from 11.2 million to 15.5 million and jumped 48% in Adults 18-49 (vs. 39% for the premiere) from a 3.1 rating to a 4.6 rating.

Both Grey's Anatomy (+83%) and Scandal (+63%) scored their biggest-ever percentage gains in TV playback among Adults 18-49. In addition, Once Upon a Time matched its largest playback increase this season, spiking +1.3 rating points this week over its L+SD Adult 18-49 number. In fact, growing to a 3.7 Adult 18-49 rating in the final L+7 numbers, Once Upon a Time delivered its highest young adult rating since October - since 10/6/13.

In the final Live + 7 Day ratings, Resurrection shot up to the week's Top 3 highest-rated broadcast series in Adults 18-49 (4.6 rating), ranking #3 versus #6 in the initial Live + Same Day numbers and Grey's Anatomy(4.2 rating) skyrocketed to the #7 position (from #14). Modern Family (5.4 rating) climbed up to rank as the #2 broadcast program of the week (from #3) among Adults 18-49, moving ahead of both the Monday (4.6) and Tuesday (4.4) editions of NBC's The Voice for the 2nd week in a row.

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/23/13-3/16/14):

Based on TV playback data for the 2013-14 season, ABC continues to claim the most Top 10 playback gainers of any broadcast network in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. ABC has 5 of the season's Top 10 in TV playback among young adults: Modern Family (+2.0 rating points) - #2, Grey's Anatomy (+1.8 rating points) - #4, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.6 rating points) and Scandal (+1.6 rating points) tied at #5 and Resurrection (+1.4 rating points) - #8. ABC also has 5 of the 10 biggest overall gainers: Castle (+4.4 million) - #5, Modern Family (+4.4 million) - #6, Resurrection (+4.2 million) - #7, Grey's (+4.0 million) - #8 and Scandal (+3.9 million) - #9.

Nearly all of ABC's key returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: The Bachelor (+24% vs. +22%), Castle (+60% vs. +50%), Dancing with the Stars (+20% vs. +18%), Grey's Anatomy (+64% vs. +50%), Last Man Standing (+46% vs. +33%), Modern Family (+56% vs. +49%), Nashville (+80% vs. +63%), Once Upon a Time (+55% vs. +45%), Revenge (+53% vs. +48%), Scandal (+53% vs. +38%) and Shark Tank (+30% vs. +21%).

· Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Tuesday's #1 scripted show this season with Adults 18-49 based on original telecasts, beating CBS' NCIS (4.2 rating vs. 4.1 rating). Based on first-run telecasts in the L+7 Adult 18-49 ratings, ABC claims the season's #1 scripted show on Tuesday (S.H.I.E.L.D. - 4.2 rating), the #1 show on Wednesday (Modern Family - 5.6), the #1 dramas on Thursday (Grey's and Scandal tied - 4.6) and the #2 show on Friday (with Shark Tank within 1-tenth of a rating point of NBC's Grimm - 2.7 vs. 2.6).

· Modern Family is the season's #2 scripted series among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (5.6 rating).
