ESPN3 Sees Double-digit Audience Increase for Game Two

Game Two of the 2014 NBA Finals, in which the Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 98-96 to even their series, generated a strong 10.2 overnight rating on ABC, according to Nielsen. The game peaked at a 13.9 from 10:30-10:45 p.m. ET.

The Game Two broadcast marks the 39th consecutive time an NBA Finals game has won the night across all of television, nearly doubling its competition.

Viewership and Ratings Up Through Two Games

Game Two of the 2014 NBA Finals delivered 15,006,000 viewers (p2+) on ABC, up from last year, according to Nielsen. The audience peaked with 18,786,000 viewers between 10-10:30 p.m. ET.

Additionally, NBA Finals Game Two averaged an 8.9 U.S. household rating, which is up five percent from Game Two last year. The success of the NBA Finals - the Miami Heat-San Antonio Spurs rematch - helped propel ABC to win the night across all of television for the 39th consecutive time.

Through two games, The Finals on ABC is up from last year's same matchup. The series is averaging 14,929,000 viewers, up four percent from 2013. Furthermore, the series is averaging an 8.9 U.S. household rating, up two percent from 2013.
